This is a review about "These Dreams" by Heart
This song has mellow music with soft rock and the dreamy mood was produced and recorded in 1985 by the American Band "Heart". they (Heart band) said that this song was dedicated to Wilson's good friend Sharon Hess, she died from leukemia, it was before they released this song. the music is in Key of B major and its tempo is 79 bpm.
The lyrics of this song are about a woman who is entering a fantasy world every time she goes to sleep and it happens every time she faces a difficult situation in her life.
this song was written by Martin Page who is known as a longtime collaborator with Elton John, the song first was offered to Fleetmacwood's Stevie Nicks which she didn't show interest in recording this song but later as the "Heart" band was growing in their music path, liked the song and decide to add it to their new album, so they start recording it but they were doing it in a different way than their old works. for example, Nancy Wilson is performing the lead vocals instead of Ann Wilson, in that time Nancy was sick (she got cold) and it was affected her voice which made it raspy and we can hear it in some parts of the song as she sings the climax parts and then in verses she sings with a soft and smooth vocal. after they released the song, it became commercially successful and after that time, producers were asking her "Can't you just get sick again?"
The instruments used in this song were synthesizers, electronic and real drums, bass, percussions, though in the music video it shows members of the band playing electric guitars but in the audio file you can't hear any electric guitars cause they did not use any. but I also added a newer version which they are playing live with more instruments and Acoustic and Electric Guitars, even though they got old but they are performing it perfectly, I would say I loved this new version more :D.
