Sailing into the Mountains
In photography, I have always had a love for Ansel Adams. He told an amazing story with his photography. He would do whatever it took to get a shot, and his strongest artistic skill was working in the darkroom, editing his work. Sometimes spending a day just to edit one photo.
As I have dug back into my old photos, I have been thingking about his work. Ansel would enrich his photos to bring them to life. Maybe darkening the sky to bring more mood to it or lightening an area to take the eyes away from it, to stretch them to another area.
This photo, in editing I decided to think like him. Imposable but I want to see the photos, especially in black and white, like I feel he would.
It is a work in process. I feel I am getting there and will one day begin to see the whole thing like I believe Ansel once did.
I hope you can enjoy my journey as I search to become a master of my art. Thank you for those that enjoy my work.
Nice photo!
Thank you
I feel I'm always darkening my images... I like to darken, then highlight, so I end up with strong contrasts - don't know if you know what I mean.. lol. This image works for me - cool one!
Thanks. I do. It is something that I have taken from Ansel Adams and his work. He is known for editing in the zones when he would work on an image in the darkroom. I like to say that is how I am not working on mine. It's great to hear you like it.
I do! All the best... :)
Well done, David! Very Ansel-ish and what a great action shot!
Thanks
