Explain the two classes of word.
Open classes refers to content words, they are part of the discourse, with words that change easily, there are a large number of open-class words, among these are compound and combined words, open class words include nouns, lexical verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
Closed class refers to function words, they are parts of speech, they are limited in numbers and they act as a guide for a good sentence structure, they are not changed. Closed classes in English include pronouns, determiners, conjunctions, and prepositions.
