Starting off, my name is Deborah, I am a belgian medicine student. And I'm going to try to make you discover things that few doctors will tell you.
Let's start with our first discovery right now !
Did you know that drinking pamplemousse juice at the same time as your medications will cancel out the effects.
This phenomen takes place because pamplemousse juice contains particules that blocks the absorption channels of your cells. On top of that the pamplemousse particules can accentuate the side effects of the drug and even worse : it might worsen the disease which in some cases can lead to death!
So be careful if you have to take drugs, do not drink grapefruit juice for the duration of your treatment.
FYI these are observed with many types of drugs, anti-depressants, anti-infectives, anti-cancer drugs, cardiovascular drugs or gastrointestinal system, etc.

Unfortunately I discovered the last months the fact about the grapefruit juice and taking pills... 😂 I read it on the leaflet from some pills I did have to take from my general practioner. (yes I certainly read the leaflet).
Where are you studying meds in Belgium? Leuven?

Not taking any drug but wondering if doctors do tell you not to drink grapefruit? Seems a little odd to me. Thanks for telling us anyways.
