Costa set to be handed a 12- game ban
Brazilian born Spanish player Diego Costa is reportedly on the verge of not playing for the rest of the season after receiving a red card in Saturday's game against Barcelona. The Spanish attacker was shown a straight red card by Jesús Gil Manzano the referee that officiated the game between Atletico Madrid versus Barcelona.
Jesús Gil Manzano showed Costa a straight red after that Costa confronted him after the red blower a freekick in favour of Barcelona following a clumsy and rough challenge by Costa on a Barca player. Costa charge at the referee was because he was expecting a free kick after a challenge was made on him but the ref looked away.
The referee in his match report said that Costa said some abusive words against him and that was why he showed him the red card. Going by that if Costa is found guilty, them he might go a 12 match ban which will see him not play for the rest of the season and even beginning of next season.
