A Busy Friday Market Day at Kunsu
This evening on my usual visit to my hometown, a land full of gold but is occupied by illegal miners. Fridays are always a busy day for the village folks and the market women who comes from the big cities to buy and sell food stuffs and clothes.
- I walked pass the the market in the afternoon, I was people busily going up and down. I couldn't hardly see just a hand full of people really buying and paying. People were rather asking for reduction in prices or trying to buy on credit.
Nowhere cool, now the systems are hard. People hardly eat enough to feed themselves and their families than to get some to buy clothes. Those selling clothes, bags and shoes weren't getting people to even ask about their goods. As at the time I left and communicated with them, their sales weren't something to write home about.
- This evening, I went there again and most of the prices had reduced drastically. The perishable goods which can end up going bad had to be sold off so that they can make some money out of their struggles.
I changed on a woman who was selling kontomire( cocoyam leaves vegetables) who was speaking that, she has no sales to even use some for transportations. That's really bad and situations like this makes me sad.
- People ain't lazy but the system sometime makes it difficult for people to survive. Covid or no covid, the country is had to live in.
People running and putting their this in order so they can get home or get the nearest car home. Some are going happy but there are few others going home with no money to keep up the house for the next few days.
God have mercy on us all and give us these day our daily bread. When will things change for the good of all people in this country. There is the hope that things will be better some day. But no one can determine the exact day. We are rich but not poor, the citizens deserves better from the leaders.
It is well.......
