Hello campus buddies It's Me again, Nurse Delight. Thanks to everyone who upvoted my previous posts. Today, i decide to tell us about how garri saves life in campus and how it can equally cause some harm to your health if taken excessively. So, pull a cushion, sit back, relax, grab a snack, and let's learn together. I know most of us will be wondering why the title of this post is "garri the life save" but i'll tell you the positive effect of garri and also the negative effect of garri.
WHAT IS GARRI AND HOW IS IT PROCESSED?

Garri can be seen as a granular outcome of processed cassava.
When a cassava is being grinded, processed, and fried without oil, the end product is what is know as garri.
However, Students in Nigeria due to economy crisis or their love for garri tends to take this garri excessively without knowing the implications of what they are doing . This garri has saved many students in campus as it contains fibre that fills the bowel and carbohydrate that provides energy and is also very affordable, trustworthy and reliable (students can relate) but at the same time, pose a risk of students and garri takers getting ulcer, mild eye problems or even diabetes if taken too much.

HOW IS GARRI PROCESSED?
To process garri, you'll have to
  • peel the cassava you want to use(get a reasonable quantity and peel)

  • after peeling, grind cassava

  • After grinding, put in a sac bag and allow to dry for 3 days

  • Bring out of bag and sieve

  • After seiving, but a frying pan(agbada) on fire

  • Then fry to your taste

CONTENTS OF GARRI?

garri contains the following nutrients:

  • Mainly fibre

  • A little protein

  • Carbohydrate

HOW TO PREPARE A GARRI JUICE
Preparing a garri juice is as easy as eating pizza. Bello is a table showing the requirements for making garri and the price:
REQUIREMENTSPRICE
A small bowlyou can get from home
A cup of garri50 naira
2 sugar20naira
2 groundnuts100 naira
Sachet milk150
Sachet cold water50 naira
Ice cubes50 naira
Soya milk50 naira
Hausa kulikuli50 naira
Coconut(if not on any medication)500 naira

Total: 920 naira

In making it, you'll have to put the garri in the bowl, pour water and the sieve out the water then you put the ingredients and add water again after which you stir and yay, it's ready for drinking.
Now, looking at the ingredients for making a garri juice that i mentioned above, i bet you'll say garri juice is nutritional yeah? You wish. Due to the economy crisis we have in Nigeria, students don't have the financial capacity to back up this requirement and by so doing, they often take the garri without adding anything to which it will quench hunger at that time but will later on bring about some health issues.

CONCLUSION

It's a good thing that we have garri to contact hunger, but excessive intake of garri is not good for our health. I know that we don't have only students in campusconnect, that's one of the reason I'm making this post. Please, of you know you have someone, or you know someone who is in school, help that person with a little token to at least eat well and stop depending on garri which will do more harm than good. Garri is basically nkt good for the health. Save a life today by helping, and nature has its ways of repaying good deeds.

Thanks a lot for reading, remember, HEALTH IS WEALTH. If you like this post, dknt forget to follow up for more informative posts.
