My California - Tokopah Valley
For this weeks Show Us Your California contest by @socalsteemit I continue sharing my mountain adventures with a short hike through...
Tokopah Valley!!
After leaving Mineral King I drove down to Three Rivers. I picked up a few things at the little store there and then drove up the Generals highway into the Giant Forest. I spent that night at the Dorst creek campground and then the next day I got my stuff packed and ready, and picked up my permit for a 7 day backpacking trip that I was planning to start the following day. After all that was done I still plenty of time left in the day. So I decided to take a short hike up Tokopah valley to the waterfall!

It was a beautiful day and there were plenty of hikers on the trail. The waterfall itself was nice, but not super impressive because the flow was pretty low. But the whole hike through the valley was really nice. Big cliffs and big trees, meadows and wildflowers, the cold flowing waters of the Marble fork. It was a lovely way to spend my afternoon. After the hike I headed back to the Dorst creek camp to spend one more night there, resting up for my big upcoming 7 day adventure!
