Suggesting more audio-text like @tts does, short update on Steemit in Nigeria 2 event and talk about witnesses, approving 3 more
Greetings!
So greetings from nigeria once again, its your home boy destinysaid speaking to yall live from the delta state!
🙁,hmmm, really wish i could get an audio only upload support on the main steemit interface .
So first of, i wanna say im very impressed with what @tts is doing, amazing stuff, converting texts to words. For someone like me, getting to read long texts quickly get boring for me and most times, i have to shift my attention to something else again. The only exception to this is when one is curating, and that in itself feels more like a job, than actually enjoying the content.
I still have no idea if its possible , and dtube, dsound has basically made things easier, but native support of small voice notes would go a long way.
You might say use dsound, but dsound does t have the capability to do what I have in mind.
See the limitations of dsound and dtube is that, you can only post 1 song or video at a go!.
Really wish that could be fixed.
dont mind the battery,
It would be nice to have a native support for short audio clips, that can be dropped throughout a post.
Like if im writing about a music tutorial technique , j could put a short audio clip so yall can hear what im writkng about etc.
But thats that about that, what I really wanted to talk about today , was SIN- steemit in Nigeria, the event.
SIN2
So to those who dont know, last year November , an event called steemit in nigeria was run, along side steemfest 2 and was quite an interesting event.
I would say it was one of the major steemit events that occured around the world, making waves and cementing the idea that Nigerians were people who took steemit seriously as well.
I dare say that it was one of the events thst made people receptive and open to us on the platform.
Well, this year, 2018, another SIN event, tagged SIN2 is going down and its goong to be far better than the last one. Happening at the capital of the country, abuja, we hope to make it one of the most memorable and biggest event that steemit has ever witnessed.
Details can not be revealed now, but more than entertainment, more than a conference and more than after party, we are bringing something innovative ,something only very few have done in the country before and something that has never been done on a large scale.
We are moving beyond the usual routine.
What to watch out for on SIN2
I will once again be handling the entertainment aspect and unlike last year, things are going to move much more smoothly. As of now, artists for the event are currently being sorted out, activities are being planned and teams are being formed.
- A larger roster of artists, bumping up to Blist and possibly an A-list artist as the lead
- provision of opportunity for upcoming artists and homegrown artists from the @debrecords initiative.
- an interactive session with successful steemians from within and outside the country
- registration and hotel reservation via online solutions
- many more that cannot be revealed at this instance .
Publicity for the event will begin shortly, and swiftly, a road map will be brought up, showcasing the places to hit before the main event in Abuja.
More information as deemed fit, will be released to the public at due time.
Thanks!
Witnesses!
It seems strange and sad that so many people coming jnto the platform now, have no idea who a witness is or what they do. I am sure, at least 90% of those who came into the platform within the last 4 months have never voted for a witness.
The reality is that due to the increase in price of SBD around december 2017, a lot of people seemingly came into the platform jjst to get some amount of cash out of the system. While making some steem/sbd is a good thing, the need for information should really be the first thing you pursue as a new steemian.
Daily I recieve messages asking for upvotes, asking for follow, but never have I seen a message asking me "which witness should I vote on". A sad reality when you think about it.
7 months ago, @lukestokes wrote a post how many steemians are not voting for a witness.
His findings were pitiful at best, and if this happened 7 months ago, imagine the situation now.
Along the journey for a better steemit: Voting and unvoting for witnesses. Personal opinions ahead

hello Steemians!
I've been having trouble with my laptop and phone for a while now, battery issues, but things are finally coming together. The holidays are over, the Sun is shining bright and I'm getting back to full strength.
Even though I've been slow, that didn't stop me from curating the Nigeria community, or getting more interactive with the community.
Despite all the information available on the blockchain, many people do not seem to understand the concepts of what a witness is. . . . .
From the tables of @pfunk the witness,
Witnesses are generally voted for because they are trusted members of the community, positively contribute to Steem and Steemit in many ways, are qualified and experienced in administration of servers, and are experienced in cryptocurrency networks and software. Witnesses are expected to keep a block-producing Steem node running 24/7/365.25. They are also expected to provide an ongoing price feed of the value of STEEM tokens in U.S. dollars, set the minimum Steem Power deposit to create an account, set the APR% for the Steem Dollar interest rate, and in the future might set additional network variables. Witnesses are also strongly encouraged to run a seed-node to provide the blockchain to syncing clients.
So if you wish to vote for a particular witness, use the link below, ifthe witness is not in the top 50, write their name in the box provided and click the vote button.
https://steemit.com/~witnesses
simoly click the vote button on the name of the padticular witness you wish to vote for. You can decide to do a lil research before voting for any witness, witnesses make decisions rhat affect the platform as a whole, so vote for those who are capable of leading.
