Travel with Detlev - No 7 - Fehmarn - A Island in the north of Germany
Hey Steemians, this week we travel to the north of Germany and stay some days at ....
The beach of Fehmarn.
Let's start with my view to the local beach.
Sandy beach
The nice and sandy beach at the south beach of Fehmarn is a perfect place for a family vacation.
Shallow water
As the beach has a quite shallow water, it is safe to have the kids for a swim. But keep an eye on the constant wind here at the beach.
Live music
Some evenings there was even some live music at the beach and I have to say that this band need to go back to learn singing. Was a bit painful for my ears.
A boat ride
Some fishermens from the close by harbor offer nice and short trips around the island. Some of them even with a pirate flag at the ship. The kids loved it.
Fehmarn sunset
Enjoy one of the nice sunset here on the island.
Easy to reach
The island of Fehmarn is since 1963 connected to the German mainland by a bridge. The Fehmarn Sound Bridge is 963m (3160.76 ft.) long and is 69 m high. The bridge is a road and rail bridge and has a unique shape.

The bridge
As we went by car to Fehmarn, we had the chance to do some pictures of the bridge.
Where is Fehmarn?
I guess you know Germany a bit so Fehmarn is easy to find. Just think North North North and you will find the little island, close to the little blue pin.
The South beach
One of the best locations is the Suedstrand. And again, the little blue pin shows the way.
When Belgians travel
Sometimes it is better to say nothing, as a picture speak for itself.
My activities
I'm a water 💦 oriented traveler and the new water fun park is a must for this trip.

Fehmarn is a relaxed island in the north of Germany and close to Denmark.
