We all want, above all, to make it in life. We all want to be great, to succeed beyond limits, to become heroes and also to make impact in our chosen field.

To this end, we go out in search of knowledge. Through many schools, workshops, seminars, skill acquisition programmes and all. At some point, we finally decide that we have gathered enough knowledge to start making a living for ourselves.

This is the point where we need to choose between paid work and self-employment.

For paid employment, we work with or for others and get paid at the end of the day for the services we have rendered either in form of wages, salaries or commissions. The employer dictates the pay which is usually a predetermined amount which would have been agreed upon by the employer and the employee. The employer also dictates the duration of the work and other conditions that have to be met by the employee. Even though payment is sure, at least inmost cases, the employee has to wait till payday. In most instances there is no backing for personal ambitions in paid employment. Everyone works together as a group and the aims, objectives and ambitions of the group supercedes that of individual members of the group.

Self-employed people on the other hand have no boss. They have total control over their money making devices. They make their own rules, set their own ultimatum, choose when to work and when not to and take vacations at will. Usually, they don't have to wait for a payday before they cash out their earnings. For most of them, everyday is payday.

As we can see, this two types of employment have a wide range of difference. It is therefore important, while choosing one, to put this differences into consideration and to think about the implications in the future.

Thank you sir. Welcome to steemit

This is exceptional. I made out time to visit your blog today. I have realized just how amazing you are.

I am excited at your writing especially on this today that you didn't take a stand as to which of the employment type we should go for. We can't all be self employed. Some people work better at the directive of others and yet they are very productive at what they do. Others a very innovative and love to work for themselves on their own idea and leading others as well. Thanks for sharing.

In the link below, i highlighted the nees to visit our follower's blog to learn and encourage each other to share their expertise with all. That I just did. Steemit isn't for loners.
