The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

A popular portion from the Bible, the holy book of the Christians has this to say about knowing the truth. "And yeshall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This sentence, I hold in high reverence. Knowing the truth lifts certain burdens off the heart. It puts the mind at ease and clarifies otherwise murky viewpoints.
It is therefore imperative that after being deceived or at least after being kept in e for dark, one sets out to find out the truth. He who seeks the truth diligently at this point shall find it and be free. But then, this knowledge tends to piss one off. For one, no one likes to be deceived and then it tends to change one's view of the "deceiver".

Truthfinding
The first step to finding out the truth is to first gain knowledge of deception. Know you have been deceived or lied to. The knowledge is in fact the first truth you get to know.

Then, the next thing to do would be to clarify how much of what you believe you know is true and how much is based on deception. Know why to believe and what not to.

When that has been established, try to find out the truth with regards to the deception. Get the correct picture of things. Know the right version of the lies you have been made to believe.

Then, try to understand these "new" truth and try to discard the lies. Come to terms with the truth and it's implications.

Finally, move on to the process of apportion in blame to the right party so as to clear the issue of false guilt. Know who is wrong, who is right and the circumstances involved. Then, try to handle this in a diplomatic manner. Know that it is an occurrence on the past and try to find the way forward.

Don't stay tied down with guilt, if you can't change it, then you're going to have to live with it.
