West Indies strong all-rounder Andre Russell was hit in the head in the match between Jamaica Talavas and St. Lucia Joux in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Russell was wearing a helmet while batting, but had to be taken off the field after the ball was hit.

Yu Darvish has struck out again after two years. It is his fourth strikeout season with 200 strikeouts since his Major League debut in 2012, and the record is tied with Hideo Nomo. However, Darvish had more meaning to complete the season than to strike out 200.
