The Ocean occupy more than 70% of the 364 million square kilometres of the Earth total area of 510 square kilometres. The five main oceans of the Earth are the Pacific, the Atlantic the Indian, the Arctic and the southern oceans

The science of the ocean is known as oceanography. The moist famous International Oceanography research centre is the international council for the exploration of the sea with it's headquarters in Copenhagen.

Like the atmosphere the ocean which is constituted the bulk of the hydrosphere has a layered structure. Ocean layers are categorised in terms of water temperature and oxygen content.
The first layer is the warm surface which is mostly noticeable are the low latitudes throughout the year and a middle latitudes in the summer. In this zone wave action makes is it a surface water with the water below it to give a one layer that may be as thick as 500 metres with a temperature of 20 to 150 degrees Celsius in oceans of Equatorial belt. Below this layer temperature drops rapidly constituting the second layer called Thermocline. Below the thermocline is the third layer with very cold water and extending to the deep Ocean floor. Ear temperature range forms 0 to 50 Celsius. In the regions of extreme cold climate such as the Arctic and Antarctic regions, the three layer system is replaced by a single layer of cold water.
This underlines the importance of temperature of environmental Dynamics and the need for balance for men and plant survival.

Importance of Ocean to ♂️

The importance of oceans tumor survivor on the earth cannot be overemphasized. For instance the oceans regulate the climate and weather. the water mass of the oceans such a large quantity of it which it loses or gains very slowly. The ocean supply water vapour to the atmosphere in forms of evaporation and are therefore the basic source of all rain that falls on the lands. And going for is the source of man's vital fresh water supplies through the process of distillation of salt water.

Apart from climate regulation the ocean sustain a wide variety of marine life forms both plant and animal, which provides man with good resources of food.
Over the years ocean of serve man as one of the most effective means of transportation and sustainment of civilization. However wind, waves, currents, sea ice and fog are environmental factors sometimes favourable and sometimes hazards that the ocean impose on human and their ships at sea.
