MY HOMEMADE KURAKKAN HELAPA: WEEKEND LIFE 16/05/2021

Hello everyone,

Today I planned to share a traditional recipe with you. As today is a day with fine weather I planned to make something different. I’m not a talented cook. But today I wanted to make Kurakkan Helapa.

Let’s see how to make it.

Ingredients
Kurakkan flour
Sugar
Water
Ginger
Cashews
The amounts of ingredients depend on your taste.

Method

First take a vessel and put some sugar.

Add some ginger into it.

Melt the sugar in low head and while melting add some cashews into it.

After the sugar is melted having golden colour, switch off the fire add the scrapped coconut.

Mix it well. After 10 minutes you can add Kurakkan flour little by little and mix well.

Arrange the mixture as you wish. You have to arrange in an easy way to steam.

We also made halapa yesterday at home😃. Half of them were made by filling coconut into middle while the other half was made in a similar way to your's. Your way is new with cashews and ginger. Must be more delicious and must try this next time.

It seems yummy and suddenly my mind ran into ginger tea because I like to have halapa with it. If you continue your cooking this way, you would definitely end up becoming a talented professional cook.

You are nicely explained step by step how to make it.
This this well nutrition snack and first time I have to seen use cashews.
In down south peoples are making it different method.
they fill the coconut mixture (pani pol) as the filling inside helapa.

Your method is quite different from ours. We don’t add cashews and ginger. We normally make halapa with ‘pol pani’ filling. I think the taste also good in your way too. Next time I’ll try your recipe.

Kurakkan Hapala is a very delicious and nutritious type of food that can be prepared easily by anyone. I also love to eat Kurakkan Halapa so much.
