How I found out about Steemit - By @dimsyto

The challenge is over I guess but I see the need to share how I got into blockchain and my little knowledge of crypto-currency and how I got on the Steemit Platform.

There are friends who are ready to give you their best, I have such friends. Around December 2017, my friend @dray91-eu decided to celebrate his birthday with us, two of his close pals, while we were at the cinema he kept saying he had to attend shows on discord and telegram and to blog. As vast as I thought I was, I knew nothing about the discord app, so curiosity made me ask him to tell me more. He was in between shows when he shared enlightenment of what Steemit and discord is, including steem and sbd the crypto-token of earning. He went ahead to tell me it was the earnings he made that week he used in celebrating his day, I got wowed and decided to learn more, he knew I loved to write about whatever comes to mind and good at trying my hands at being creative. That's how my blockchain career started.

Why did I join Steemit?
Dray invited me, even added me to euronation group where I had the best tutors who were patient enough to put a lot of us through on how to do well as a content creator, they gave us the pros and cons, gave a guide on how to make a catchy introductory post, I did learn a lot.
Been involved in student unionism didn't give me much time to spare to develop more on my blog. I didn't drop an introductory post until weeks after I had my tutorials, I got around $3 and I was happy seeing my first earning, the little time I had I was always reading my favourite posts, making friends and blogging. There were a lot of posts I was always looking forward to viewing everyday and every week, the first challenge I showed interest in was Mancrushmonday with @gee1, then came Womancrushwednesday and ThrowbackThursday. Cooking show with @adoore-eu was one of my favourite shows as well, every week I was eager to learn new delicacies.
The first reason I had for joining steemit was for the monetary benefit that comes with sharing your contents, once I got on the platform the earnings were an added advantage, I got engrossed in learning each day and interactions. That was more for me.

First experience

The acceptance I got when I dropped my Introductory post boosted my morale into doing more, it was quite challenging though, truth be told cos whales were getting more upvotes while minnows suffer and struggle to get noticed for their quality contents, but interactions and making appearances on shows helped me. I must not forget, the price of STEEM and SBD was quite encouraging then so it kept me going. Lol
With how much financial freedom Steemit gave me and a couple of friends in school then, we joined forces and had a campaign to get more people onboard on the Steemit Platform, we had the campaign under the steemjet fronted and had massive support from @dimmip. A lot of them started blogging and realised they were good at content creation, some at arts, others at music and many more.

Months later, the price of STEEM dropped and most people lost interest, it was at that time @nathanmars started the seven77 challenge to help push steem to moon, it was from the challenge I stated liking my face more in videos, very funny and still got more friends.
I have quite a number of friends I met on Steemit now who are more than just friends but have become family, always ready to support whenever they need be, and don't hesitate to encourage me to unleash more potentials that I have kept at bay.
Steemit has given me a lot, from financial independence to having good relationship for which I will forever be grateful for. And I must say, this challenge gave me the opportunity to reminisce sweet fond memories.
