This Coffee pot at the time of the sale in 2013 held the record for being the most expensive piece of British silverware ever sold. The coffee pot is only over 10 inches tall and has been on exhibite at the Metropolitan Museum in New York before it was sold. This Coffee pot was crafted by a British silversmith Paul de Lamerie in 1738 and commissioned by John Lequesne, who was also the director of the Bank of England he was knighted by King George II in 1737.
