Understanding Student Self Esteem
The term self is self, whereas esteem is an award. "Self-esteem is the values that exist in self, ability and behavior". Based on the word self-esteem, self-esteem can simply be defined as a person's appreciation of the values contained within himself, because the strengths contained in an individual will have positive values and a good attitude of acceptance so that they are reflected in positive behavior this is if an individual understands and accepts and develops all the potential within him.
*Self-esteem is an individual-made evaluation and a habit of viewing itself primarily about acceptance and rejection, as well as an indication of the magnitude of individual beliefs in their abilities, meanings, successes, and rewards. Briefly self-esteem is a "personal judgment" of a valuable or meaningful feeling expressed in individual attitudes toward itself. Based on the opinion of the experts mentioned above, it can be concluded that self-esteem is an attitude that is in itself and concerns itself that must be respected existence."
With good self-esteem, students will always assess their feelings positively, with positive feelings that students can easily remember their lessons well so that their achievements will also increase. A good self-esteem for students is how he understands the human powers so as to develop the potential that is present in him appropriately and purposefully.
