Austere

Being austere has made me realize it is a social weakness.

Let’s begin with the definition:

1. severe in manner or appearance; strict; forbidding.
2. rigorously self-disciplined and severely moral; ascetic; abstinent.
3. without excess, luxury, or ease: an austere life.
4. without ornament or adornment; severely simple: austere writing.
5. lacking softness.

Here are some synonyms:

stern, hard, serious, cold, severe, formal, grave, strict, exacting, harsh, stiff, forbidding, grim, rigorous, solemn, stringent, inflexible, unrelenting, unfeeling an austere, distant, cold person

The problem with an austere lifestyle is none of the words that describe you are compliments.

Hence I advise others to avoid using me as an example. I am no fun. I am not invited to participate in social functions.

The only good news about being austere is the low cost. Luxuries aren’t required.

They say “knowledge is power”. I know who I have become, yet I feel powerless to change. My mind does not function well in this area. I don’t know how to change.
