Vendors Selling Food Argue That They Are An Essential Service

To adjust to the recent curfews and business restrictions that have been imposed in various jurisdictions, a wide range of vendors and entrepreneurs have had to make changes and innovate to try and overcome the recent hardship they face.

For some, it has meant establishing things like drive through farmers markets, but for others it has meant a shutdown altogether.

Some of those street vendors though are at risk of losing thousands of dollars. And for those who are selling food products, they argue that they should be considered an essential service.

For vendors around the Caribbean,..

In places like Barbados, street vendors there have been told to close up shop for at least 2 weeks.

A recent 2 week shutdown went into effect, limiting movement from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. but vendors are worried about the money that they will lose that they need to support themselves and their families.

In Jamaica, food vendors there too are facing a great struggle right now, as they are around the world in many places. Serving people on the streets is how they earn money to survive and right now they cannot do that.

Those vendors say that they too should be considered essential services because they are providing people vegetables and other food products. For now though, it looks like they will be forced to close up for the remainder of that shutdown at least.

One area that is incredibly popular with street food vendors is New York and one fundraiser there has been established to help raise thousands of dollars for vendors impacted by the shutdown.

They are hoping to be able to help thousands of food vendors with this fundraiser, and there are multiple other charity efforts that are ongoing which are trying to raise funds for restaurant workers and a variety of individuals that are now unexpectedly out of work.

I think in a way they do give an alternative. If not, the online grocery cannot deliver for all and more will crowd the supermarket and panic buy.

The works did not see this coming , many more spin off effects yet to be seen. Stay safe dude.

Hah , so we are all slaves under a global government that tell us who is and isnt an essential service, while trying to bribe us all off with UBI,if we are lucky. Americans MAy get this $1000 a month but, many wont and, most outside the USA will be VERY upset, revolutions will occur this year, and i really dont give a fuck . im ready to profit off it all by holding BTC

ALtcoins may or may not go up who cares all we can count on is BTC

This world is savage and all we need to look out for ourselves as this planned economic collapse ends up creating a lot of misery

hopefully crypto currency and social media will be used as a sort of emergency broadcast system.

Too bad they starve people in africa for mobile phone data, starlink will solve that, national governmets will subsidize national data plans, every afrcian will get emergency data of a few gigs a month of starlink, but eventually starlink will give all of africa free internet as a sort of reparations for any mess created by european colonialism :D We will just give them free access to the internet, and that is a pretty fair deal....and we could argue the starlink network, if using telos DPOS reward pools could allow a referral system so people could PAY their way by posting social media advertising like @telokanda but imagine you have ALL of AFrica providing CONTENT to the TESLA STARLINK network
