Has the world gone mad? 🤔
Dear Steemians!
I avoid the TV like the plague, especially the news and media channels. I can't find a worse way to spend my time than lathering myself in doom, gloom and misery of others.
Nothing makes me more depressed than turning on the television and hearing about how many children were raped, how many innocents tortured and murdered or how corrupt and deranged "X" governments are.
Every time that I watch the "news", without fail I come away wishing that some alien species would fly on over, remove all of our rights and enslave the human race. At least then we won't be killing each other.

I mean what is happening in the world? Is everybody insane?
We have America "Leaders of the free world". Under the leadership of a budgie who can't count to ten and won't condemn racist actions or any other violence. Nut cases with guns mowing down innocent concert goers. Police shooting and killing innocent people for no reason. A schism in the populace regarding political views. Just to capitulate stupidity with idiocracy we now have a rise in anti-Semitic behavior, klu klux klan and neo-nazi activity and general fascism.
South america is in political turmoil with murders, corruption, brutality and now Venezuela wants to go to war with the US.
In Europe mass spread terrorism hammers Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and the UK. Anti-social behavior towards immigrants and a rise in nationalism. The UK decided to leave the European union, when the masses were asked why they voted in favor of the separation half didn't even know why they went to vote. Practically the downfall of democracy in Spain with the Catatonian referendum and police insanity.
In Africa war, racism, famine and poverty ravage the population, sexually transmitted diseases are rampant. Piracy, kidnapping and now religious unrest everywhere.
In the middle east we have daily rape, murder, terrorism, war, torture and corruption. Kids being crucified, women raped, mutilated and enslaved because of where they were born. Men having their heads sliced off with pen knives in the name of religion. The destruction of thousands of years of human heritage and culture.
The Korean peninsula crisis with a brainless spoiled brat making nuclear weapons and threatening fire and brimstone on the world, pulling Russia, China, Japan, South Korea and the US into a Sabre rattling contest.
In the Philippeanes the president has given everyone Carte Blanche to murder people in the street.
Couple all this with your local: daily psychopathic murderer, a few missing children every week, more political corruption, riots and regular rapes and you have the state of the world that we live in.
I can never understand why we are so prone to murdering, raping and inflicting pain on each other. Yet when it comes to helping each other or improving the world we live in we shy away from it.
I'm sure many of you are thinking "it's always been that way", but in my opinion racism, violence, nationalism and fascism is on the rise which bodes ill for us all. What happened to the millenia of globalization? Treat others as you wish to be treated? Feed the world? We seem to have switched it all in favor of nuclear bombs and machine guns.
As once immortalized by Rodney King "Why can't we all just get along?".

Well that is a very Dystopian view. Of course I agree on how awful the world is. I'm not about to forge a new political movement, if only I had the brains. What we can do is spread a bit of cheer, and good sense. I wish I knew the answer to make you see the world in a different light. Ah! Got it! Look at Steemit posts....
Just as an aside, I have already joined Coinbase as part of my experiment and have an account but it hasn't been validated. Trying to photograph my passport and send that in has proven tres difficult!. I wish I'd known about this before!
God it took me about 40 attempts, a week later I got 40 e-mails from them saying I can now use GDAX :-P
Problem was, I have already paid %&$@ loads in commissions... :/
Gosh you are far ahead of me! I have no idea what GDAX:-P is! Now I have to go look it up. What a shame you already paid commission, that's another warning. Ph Well, par for the course. If it means I can find out things then so be it. I am ready to go through some hoops for the priviledge of staying on Steemit! Think of all the fun things I learned from other people in this community. Thank you dear domcrypto, I see you as some Knight of old.

Nice post... I think everybody should start with themselves first. If every paid attention to the contents of their plates, if they are violence-free etc., there would certainly be less violence in this world. How could you be mean to a human if you pay attention not to be mean to animals while eating every meal you eat in a day? If anything, you will save thousands of animal lives and spare them from suffering just by not eating animal products for the rest of your lifetime... It only takes a single decision, right?

So distopian! But if you didn't have a healthy sense of fun I'd be depressed by now. Now we are worrying about the California fires. Fortunately friends have escaped the fire so that's a relief but it's quite dreadful what's happening. Anyway, although you won't remember, I just wanted to update you in that I did manage the powerdown and that went went. It all works! All I have to do now is get some Bitcoin to see how far I can go. Don't plan on being a trader any time soon though. Too busy on Steemit, which is my long term goal. Build you - Build me! (my new little logo for Steemit.)
