BREAKING FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF RELIGION

The first step to breaking away from the shackles of religion is by overcoming the morbid fear of the after-life. It is this fear that has made people commit all manner of atrocities against their fellow human beings in the name of God worship. That fear is real and perplexing.
It is this fear that drove the European Inquisitors and is yet driving Islamic suicide bombers all over the world to achieve a non existing mirage. It is this fear that drives the man with a cracked megaphone, disturbing every morning the public peace with threats of imaginary hell fire and those hurriedly concocted jargons which aim to condition the mind to act in a specific way.

"The intellect (to think about religion) is a reasonably sharp knife, if you do not know how to hold and maneuver it. You keep cutting yourself" ----Sahdguru

Religion has made people willingly surrender their thinking faculties to con men and fraudsters who go by the title of "pastors" and have ripped fat from the largesse and ignorance of many a people.
The most potent force religion has used to cage people is the "Fear of the Unknown" - the fear of death and after-life. It is much more potent than the promise of prosperity.
In natural settings, the idea of death is terrifying. Try speaking to people about such classified subjects and watch their body language turn morose. It elicit fear and sober reflections.

"Is there another life beyond this earthly life? Or are we going to end up as dust and evaporate into oblivion?"

Religion attempts to provide a cushioning effect to this terrifying reality of death. Each religion creates beautiful fantasies - different versions of paradises; of sexual orgies with virgins, of exotic wines, of everlasting life, of gold-plated streets and singing hallelujah to some god.
Each of these paradises reflects the mindset of the people who created them. And along with these eternal paradises are their corresponding eternal damnation. Of course the religious leaders decide who goes to where and how that can be achieved. Creating for themselves a larger than life picture of being omniscient.
God's amongst men.
On a personal note, I've ceased to bother. One should be more concerned about living this life to the fullest and positively touching the lives of people around him than to be bothered by questions he cannot answer. Humanity, first. ------That we don't have the entire answers to certain questions religion and dogmatic overtures throw towards our path right now is not a reason to be coerced into believing unprofitable, unprovable gibberish propagated by religionists and it's practitioners.
Superstition and make believes cannot be used to fill up the void left by ignorance. We cannot keep listening to people who wake at such ungodly hours as I have done drafting this post to say they have heard from a God they cannot seen or touch physically. They connect with their inner "malaria" and whip up fantastic stories from the afterlife.
This is their selling point.you can choose to connect with your spirituality and lampoon these hustlers by paying less patronage to their brand of unscripted, unscrupulous jingoistic, mind racking and revving ignorance.
Choose.
