The Paradox of the Twin (English)

in #steemstem7 years ago

For this analysis of time it is necessary that you know Leonardo and Enrique, two twin brothers of good family who today must say goodbye. Leornado is an astronaut who must travel to space to investigate a star far to 10 light years. He warns ‘’do not worry’’ because his rocket travels almost at the speed of light, a clock and a calendar is taken. The trip was made, He went and back from the star, Leornado is happy, his clock brands that He was around 12 years in space but will be shocked because when he returns Enrique is there but as elder than him, on earth, his journey lasted more than 25 years.

WAIT, WHAT HAPPENED HERE?

What happened when Leornado got on that rocket? If necessary, take note. I will not use formulas to explain this but we will rely on the theory of relativity.

PAY ATTENTION HERE I GO

The problem begins when we realize that each twin expects to see his other brother younger than himself but obviously THE TWO THINGS CAN NOT HAPPEN AT THE SAME TIME.

THAT IS WHO WILL BE THE OLD AND WHO THE YOUNG REALLY?

FIRST: Leornado must make a trip to a star 10 light-years from the earth, must go back and forth and He travels at least 87% of the speed of light. To solve this, each brother has a clock that every 1 second must send a signal to his brother's watch.

At the rocket

The space for Leornado that goes on the rocket is no longer the same. The Rocket moves so fast (87% of the speed of light) that a distance of 10 light-years NO LONGER ARE they actually are now 5 light years (Approaching) because space-time contracts for Leornado. Those 5 light-years will take you around 6 years considering how fast you travel then your return to the land will take 12 years.

When Leornado travels to the star, he is moving considerably away from the earth obviously making the distance between them bigger and bigger, when a signal from Enrique is transmitted for every 1 second it must face that to be detected by Leornado it must travel every more and more distance which implies that it will take more and more to arrive because they must chase the fast rocket. This effect generates that on average Leonardo detects the signal every 4 seconds.

4 second on the rocket are 1 second on the earth. Leornado perceives his brother in slow motion What happens when he arrives at the star? His trip of 6 years has lasted on earth 4 times less than it should have been since it lasted 1.5 years since the earth was in slow motion.

Now Leornado must turn around and start his 6-year journey back and here the papers are reversed, if you followed the idea, the distance between the earth and the rocket will now be progressively smaller as Leornado approaches and comes very close very fast with what he begins to perceive the signals of the earth much faster than normal, now they are 4 times faster, he observes something of the earth every 0,27 seconds and the effect is that the Earth is ''in fast motion''. The return of Leornado from 6 years are 24 years on earth.

Leornado travels to the star for 6 years where he perceives that Enrique has spent 1.5 years on earth (slow motion) and on his return of 6 years he perceives that 24 years on earth. He has lasted 12 years in space and on earth, Enrique has spent 25.5 years- For this, he gets his brother older than him

BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF WE SEE IT FROM THE EARTH FOR ENRIQUE?

Enrique does his numbers, if Leonardo's trip is 10 light-years away, he will take 12 years to go and 12 years to return so it will take him 24 years to see him again. But he will perceive everything the same but the other way around. When Leornado travels to the star, he is getting farther and farther away and the signals coming from the rocket must travel more distance to reach the earth EXACTLY EXACTLY THE SAME BUT NOW READY IS IN SLOW MOTION, that is, 12 years on earth would be 3 years on the Rocket.

THIS IS THE BRAKE WITHIN THE PARADOX, FOR EACH ONE YOUR BROTHER IS IN A SLOW MOTION WHEN THE TRIP BEGINS ALTHOUGH THEY SAY THEY ARE IN A NORMAL CHAMBER BUT IF YOU HAVE TAKEN THE TRACK THERE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW WE WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM

Copia (2) de Dibujo.JPG

What happens at age 12? That Leonardo will begin his return to earth and these signs of ''Leonardo returning'' are sent to the earth but remember, IT MUST TRAVEL 10 YEARS-LIGHT FOR ENRIQUE SEE IT and while those signals arrive the other errands during his ''going'' must arrive and they will arrive first obviously. The signals of ''slow motion'' will last more than the account before the signals of ''fast motion'' arrive by the very effect of the distance. What does it mean? Enrique see his brother in slow motion for 24 years and not for 12 years and for Leonardo who goes in slow motion have spent 4 times less time 8 years

After this time Enrique will see his brother much faster because he is going back BUT IT WILL BE FOR A LITTLE TIME since in the ''extra time'' where he saw it slowly, in reality Leornado was back. If the trip is 12 years and 10.5 of those were already back Leornado is only 1.5 years back! 1.5 years that is in fast camera and are 4 years for Leonardo.

Leonardo arrives and it has taken 12 years but on earth 25.5 years have passed YOU NOTICE? The numbers squared and in fact, the one that gets older is ENRIQUE

SUMMARY

On the journey Leornado is the mobile object and Enrique on earth is ''quiet'' for Earth-Star systems. Leonardo will first see him SLOW and back he will see it QUICKLY given his speed and distance from the signals but it happens a different effect from the time when Enrique is watching, he will see slower his brother's account and by the time he can see it fast ALREADY HAVE TRAVELED So much that nothing is missing for it to arrive. And for that, at the definitive time. On earth I spend much more time than Leonardo hard on his trip. Enrique is older.
