Steemit Engagement Challenge Season5 Week2 : My medical experiences
One of my worst evenings ever was that one. For a while, that is how it appeared. About five minutes after devouring a plate of beans cooked by I and my roommate, I realized something wasn't right. I simply felt odd. Then, an hour later, I became totally restless. I eventually found myself over the toilet three hours later. I vomited for hours.
Despite never having experienced with food poisoning before, I immediately knew that's what was happening. I was miserable. I couldn't leave the bathroom, for one. Two, I detest puking. Third, I was harboring strong self-pity. There is no one to hold your hair back when you throw up when you just have a roommate who is sound asleep because it is four in the morning.
Throwing up by yourself is the most isolating experience. I was a complete mess after being awake all night, tossing and turning between not wanting to vomit again and wanting to vomit again to get it all out of me.
What to do when you have food poisoning? I would have looked up on Google from my bed. I had to be in class the next day, so like I stated, I couldn't even step outside of the restroom for a moment. There was no way to avoid it. And nothing compares to having to drive for two hours without any sleep. The good news is that, even though I was still uneasy, I believe I expelled everything from my body (you know what I mean)
I've always been curious as to how folks could distinguish between food poisoning and the flu. I can understand that now, though, having experienced it. Really, you just instinctively know when you do.
By morning my roommate had to take me to the hospital where we discovered that the poison was the preservation used on the beans after harvesting to prevent parasites and we after buying the beans didnt wash thoroughly before cooking. Because of this experience beans became my greatest enemy even though I learnt the following lessons: No matter how hungry you are always wash foodstuffs thoroughly, preferably with hot water.
Foodborne illness is another name for food poisoning. It's a "disease contracted through consumption of tainted food or water." Any "kind of illness that you can develop from eating food that is contaminated" might be referred to by this term. Disease caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, chemicals, allergies, or naturally occurring toxins like certain mushrooms can be included in this category.
"Stomach cramps, fever , headache, nausea, vomiting , and diarrhea" are among the symptoms of food poisoning, if they are noticed, rush to a near by hospital.
Saludos 🤗

That's the nice lesson learnt .
Yes they are typically seen immediately after consuming a contaminated food.
