Cryptos are wonderful, I agree. They are disruptive. Spectacular and revolutionary. They are changing the world and so on and so forth.
They have only one tiny problem: you can't buy much with them.
We're still far behind the moment when we will do our groceries with Bitcoin directly (or Steem, for what matters) but there is hope.
In a move called "Project Coral Reef", created by entrepreneur Naveen Jain and Monero lead maintainer Riccardo "Fluffypony" Spagni (names must be familiar from Twitter), 40 artists joined forces and accepted to sell their music by using XMR. Among them, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, Mötorhead, but also Sia or G-Easy (didn't hear about the last one, which proves how old I really am). The news, published initially on Coindesk, also gives details about who is gonna process the payments and what promoters are involved - which means it's not a "let's try this thing and see how it goes" approach, but a rather well built and consistent enterprise.
This project comes in the footsteps of Bjork announcing her latest album, Utopia, will be available for buying with 4 types of cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash and Audiocoin.
Rumors about Amazon accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment are also more and more present (at least in my world) so we're inching towards the tipping point.
