SEC - S17W1 | "Influence of SBDs on your growth"
Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this season of engagement challenge. Today I am writing at task set by Community: Scouts y sus Amigos which is about SBDs as a reward.
Did you know about SBD, or is it something new to you?
As of now, I have been on this platform for four years, and during these 4 years, I have seen various phases of the market ranging from bear to bull and bull to bear and now again heading towards the bull season. So, I was already aware of SBD as a stake in reward sharing by authors on the Steam blockchain.
For the understanding of new users, I can even describe the mechanism behind these rewards. For understanding the distribution of author awards, we must understand the concept of the debt ratio of Steam. That is defined as the ratio of the market cap of SBD to the market cap of Steem. Based on the value of the debt ratio, it can be determined what rewards an author can get after the post payout.

If we calculate the current debt ratio of Steam, it is less than 9%. So, we have started to get SBD + SP as rewards on posts. It's also important to mention that it is only the author who is entitled to receive different rewards; curators are only entitled to receive SP as curation rewards.
How has the arrival of SBD influenced your growth?
The arrival of SBD has dramatically increased my Steam power. It is because the SBDs that I get on my posts are converted to Steam within the internal market of the Steam and then powered up.
In the screenshot above, it is evident that in the last month, my author awards were equal to $277, which is close to 1000 Steam. So, of the total Steam that I earned in the last 6 months, one third was earned in the last month.
When I recently started again my journey here, I powered up 1200 steem. For next 4 to 5 months I ended up getting 800 steem and alone in last one month I powered up about 1000 steem. So my growth since the introduction of SBD as rewards has increased more than five times.
Do you consider it better to receive rewards directly in Steem or do you prefer them in SBD? Why? Share your story with SBD as a reward.
As for my understanding of the debt ratio of the Steem, there's no mechanism to get rewards solely in Steem only, as has been mentioned in the table above. We earlier used to get rewards as SP and liquid Steam. Ever since the correction of the debt ratio, we are now getting SBD along with SP, and the current mechanism of receiving rewards is more beneficial for authors. So, I definitely prefer the current state of the Steem blockchain so that authors benefit more and more.
My real story with SBD as reward .
In 2021, the steem initiated a payout rewards system of 100% SP to encourage participation on Steemit. Despite the default setting being 50% SBD/50% SP, I was hesitant to change the author awards to 100%SP. So a the then curator commented on one of my posts, urging me to set author rewards as 100% SP instead of 50/50.
My reluctance at that time was because of current like debt ratio scenario back then. I used to convert all my SBD to liquid STEEM and then to STEEM Power. Upon calculation, I found that I received more liquid STEEM from the 50% SBD rewards than the author rewards I could have received with 100% SP. At that time, I wasn't withdrawing any STEEM, and I explained this to the curator, who was satisfied but cautioned that it was temporary. I also assured them that I would temporarily set the rewards as 50/50 and adjust them accordingly based on any shifts in the debt ratio or price of SBD, when posting.

Hi @drqamu I really enjoy reading your entry, you have extra everything in great detail, since SBD came back, people have been able to gather some Steem for themselves and there are able to build their steempower, so many people have gotten dolphin not one or even two but three or even four dolphin, I have seen how this SBD have influence you.
