Steemit.com site DOWN as crypto and stock markets crash
9:40pm in Vancouver (PST) at time of upload. Site unreachable from here, or from any of my friends (in other cities), nor by any sites such as http://isitdownrightnow.com/
The overall crypto markets are continuing to crash today, down over 70% from the recent highs. The Dow has crashed another 1300 points in after hours trading (after losing 1175 already today). Scary stuff.
Hopefully Steemit is back up as soon as possible so we can continue to build the community! : )

Definitely not just you! It's site-wide, and it's for everybody (nobody in the world can reach Steemit right now).
And this has been over an hour now. I hope for the best!

Doing that has hidden my video! That's somewhat unfair, as I didn't do anything wrong. I'm trying to provide useful information to the community, during a time where there isn't any available! Sheesh!
And we're back! It's 10:30 and I'm commenting through Steemit this time. About 90 minutes downtime. Hopefully that's the end of it.
I kept getting 504 gate-way disconnect error. Was checking google and twitter, and nobody was posting any news about steemit being down. I couldn't even log into busy.org, so I knew there was something bad going on somewhere. Thank goodness it is back. Ever wonder if your steem account might suddenly vanish?

P.S. How does one post on steemit that steemit is down? Or Dtube was still working at the time?
Yeah, DTube was still working fine, so I could upload this video and we could comment... but the rest of the site was down. It was pretty clear to me (when it hadn't been before) exactly where the line between the 2 is. And I found that 90 minutes without Steemit sucked! It's my favourite site right now : )
I totally get you, and yeah, it does crash from time to time -- including steemnow, steemviz, etc. I suspect it has something to do with the blockchain.
