Market Friday goes Cruising Part ll

in #marketfriday7 years ago (edited)

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Please join me as we share different markets across this globe of ours. I always look forward to experiencing life through your eyes! It is amazing to see so many different markets and the different cultures.

I would be remiss if I didn't bring you a Part ll for the cruise ship as I didn't really cover nearly half of it. Are you ready? Life preservers packed? Let's go! If you missed Part l - you can find it here.

The first time I saw a car parked on the promenade of a ship, I couldn't believe my eyes. Why? Well, it does make a nice addition to the photo ops around and quite nice to be sure. No, I didn't. If I wasn't driving it, I wasn't faking it. To be clear, the promenade is the wide boulevard or main walkway where people stroll. It is usually the widest part of the ship, as far as boardwalks.

I have been to so many new places lately! Oh! The curiosity that is attached to foreign ingredients, different produce or any product sold. So, yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.

But first, a flower. Always a flower.

The loveliness of you never escapes me
May I gaze upon you, always and a day?

There are cooking classes. You can learn to make sushi, decorate cakes and many other delectable delicacies. If you are lucky, you get selected from the audience and get an up close and personal demonstration.

But, then again...

Sometimes everyone is part of the class. It depends on what they are doing, such as sushi! Everyone gets to make their own roll!

Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. They will all be in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you! ❤

Last time I counted, there were five pools on this ship, plus the kiddie pool. That is a lot of pool. Now granted, they don't make them too big, but nice enough that you can have an enjoyable time without too much suffering.

Nobody is allowed to suffer here.

The North Star

The Quantum-class ships have what is referred to as "The North Star" which is a glass-enclosed little pod that holds people and would remind you of a small London Eye. The picture of the pool was taken from the North Star. It really gives you quite the view.

And, yes! I have gotten stuck up there, for about ten minutes on two separate occasions. Yikes! Third time is the charm, right??

This is Horseshoe Beach, one of the many islands that litter the Caribbean, just waiting to burn you!

Another private space, where you and your loved one can go to sit and talk.

It's also great for a little people watching!

The food is glorious and the portions are generous. If they have two entrees and you can't make up your mind, they encourage you to order two.

They will not let you leave hungry or unsatisfied. Satisfaction is guaranteed!

Your chefs and wait staff are the best. Five Star ***** best!

There is roller skating, ice skating bumper cars, a casino to name a few things. There is also Broadway plays and opera. There is entertainment every night

You will not be disappointed!

There is a full-size Merry-Go-Round in Central Park. This ship has actual neighborhoods. They even have Coney Island and a hot dog stand.

Seriously!! Who knew? It is like a floating city!

Geodes suspended from the ceiling. Simply delightful!

The poolside movies shown every night is a favorite of many. It's late and it is time to relax and enjoy a movie while you swim or while you sit in the beach chairs. A nice way to end the evening.

There is a turn-down every night and there is a special little "something" left for you. It is never the same, usually something different and quite delightful!

Thank you for stopping by #MarketFriday! I appreciate your time and effort to help make this challenge a success. It is with thanks that I end this post. Have a most wonderful Friday! The weekend is almost upon us!

Another night in paradise, as the sun reaches down and kisses the earth goodnight.

As many times as I have seen pics of the ships, they never fail to impress!! I am sold, I really want to go. If I ever hit the lottery, I will get on a cruise someday!

@old-guy-photos Seriously old man! If you wait until you win the lottery, you may never go! You and your Charlie Brown luck should not be winning the lottery, but then again, when you think about it, you are exactly the person that will win the lottery. If and when you do, I expect to see you sailing the high seas. I know that you have said this before but I do think that you were made for cruising.

Let's be honest here for a minute. Can you think of anybody you know or want to know that isn't made for cruising? What is there not to love? Let me see for a moment. They bring you breakfast and you can have it in bed if you want. You get up, shower and leave your room to start your day and they are behind you making your bed cleaning your bathroom and vacuuming everything to freshen up your room. So you go off and enjoy your day, eating and drinking and eating and drinking and eating more, because everybody knows that they feed you non-stop on a cruise. It's up to you to pull the plug on that when you're done. I don't think I've ever seen so much food in my entire life. And the thing about it is, it's all delicious. How can they do that to me? Don't they know I have no willpower? Sometimes life is so unfair, isn't it?

I forgot where I was going with this... But to make a long story short, I am sure that when you finally get to go cruising, that you will be addicted and you'll continue to cruise for the rest of your life. I don't know about you, but when I get old and decrepit, I think I'm going to live on a cruise ship instead of a rest home. I'm only kidding, but you know as well as I do that there are actually people that do that. They go from cruise ship to cruise ship enjoying different itineraries and different people. I guess if you don't have any family, I can't think of a more awesome way of spending time than to spend it with interesting people.

Thank you so much for always and forever putting together an awesome Market Friday for me and for making sure that you visit mine

Finally I got mine in!!! Not as nice and pretty as many of them, but it was my day today and I love to share in your MF tag!

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@old-guy-photos/dropping-da-benjamins

Thank you! I love to get your posts!! You know I do! :)

Well if i wasn't convinced before you have certainly convince me now that's like Las Vegas all put together on a ship and all in walking distance will be seeing you on the next cruise ....hehe :)

Buffalo Chicken Eggs i live in Thailand and have never seen a Buffalo lay a egg confusing.... to funny :)

Come on now! You can't tell me that your chickens don't have buffalo chicken eggs? I'm only kidding of course. I think what they're supposed to mean is that it's hot because anything over here that is done buffalo style means that it's hot. You see, I have trouble with that also because I am not sure what Buffalo has to do with hot, but it is calling you so over here and so I go with it.

I guess I can't believe you have never been on a cruise because you are such a fun loving guy but it never occurred to me that you wouldn't have gone. It is definitely Las Vegas styled in some aspects and then again parts of it are like being in a high-end Resort Spa. Of course there are different ships for different people and different likes. Someday when I have some time off I would like to do a cruise around the world and one of the Yachts that they have that cater to only three or four hundred people at a time. That's really where it's at, but I don't think I'm ready for that circuit yet.

Thank you as always for pushing for a perfectly wonderful Market Friday. I always appreciate you

What do you expect it's America the amazing weird country...no meaning or connection at all just America big noting itself again.....haha...lol :)))))

Ohhhhh... fun loving guy......your to sweet ...no really i do need to get on a cruise one day and i will do it to have the experience and to say i did it :)

Have a great week my friend !!

This trip is a paradise, a wonderful holiday in the midst of so many amazing things and views.
I think you're charging the batteries in the right place.

Ah, this car, I love old cars.

Wonderful photos

Greetings :)

Absolute heaven, that's what this trip was. I don't see how anybody could have a bad time, but there are people who don't enjoy cruising so like I say, it's not for everybody but it is for this somebody.

You are totally right when you save in my batteries are charged because they surely do feel so much better. Thank you for dropping by market Friday and as usual I always appreciate when you do. You and your husband are the nicest people.

Some of the people are really stinky :) It doesn't matter where they are, they are always unhappy.

I hope that one day they will see more then being angry for the whole world.

Thank you for your very kind words

I feel really bless to know you :)

Enjoy your day like always :)

XOXO Love to you, my friend.

Sweet colorful

Never! Never, I tell you. You are my beautiful friends are always have been. I am so happy that you enjoyed the market and I just love putting it together, hoping that it will be enjoyed by many.

I am always super happy to see a post in Market Friday from you! You always have a way of making it special and sending my way something that is very indicative of Spain. Your markets are always enviable and makes me want to visit there.

I am so late this week with so much going on but today I am making a point of visiting everybody's markets. Thank you so much for taking the time and putting the effort into showing off your Market Friday.

Love to you my beautiful friend.

Besos! 💖💕

how not
I love it and you know it.
It makes me laugh and wish. I know people from all over the world
i love you

yo también te amo XOXO

Wow! Stunning photography, Denise! Looks like a wonderful cruise, what fun! resteemed :)

Thank you so much Keith! You are far too kind if you are calling my photography stunning! Although I have to admit, there are days that I'm desperate for a good comment or at least a nice comment. The cruise was absolutely wonderful, as they usually are but admittedly, I still like destination holidays.

Some of my best times are in places that I rented for 2 weeks to a month at a time, but when the job would not stop calling for the entire time, I started cruising with no internet. If I'm on holiday, I don't need to be bothered. It's work, it is a father. I was so excited to see you get back and now that you are my time has been so limited I haven't been able to get over to your place, but I do because I hate when I miss your hilarious stories.

Thank you truly for the resteem and upvote!

I really like your photos. They are well composed, bright & colourful, and the overall image quality is very high. I know what you mean about being bothered by work while on vacation. I remember being in Charleston on vacation and some emergency came up at work and I had to connect to the network... of course, I had forgotten the power adapter for my Dell notebook so I had to drive all over town on a Sunday morning trying to find a Dell power adapter. Found one too! What a pain.

I don't think you've missed much on my page, I've had trouble getting started again.

Oh, my God! Yes!!! That!! Except it is always until the end of vacation. Everything is a crisis, you know? Hello? I need my life back.

I discovered it on cruising five years ago. I have never turned back since.

The pictures are taken with my Samsung S7, and two different Canons. I was playing mix and match on the shots. The phone is just a necessity on the beach, especially in the waves.

Work and Holiday don't mix. I'd like to call one of the bosses on their holiday and ... well... nevermind. :)

Oh, as soon as I finish this #MarketFriday, I'll be over, Post something asap!

I see that you are having a great time and that's what it's all about. Life is so beautiful.

A great post to my friend.

I will come back soon. I upvote and resteem :)

Just like all the vacations that you and Margaret go on, there is no way that you could have a bad time when you are on a cruise ship. Life is Beautiful when you are on holiday. Sometimes, it's not even so much where you are, but you're with and the experiences that you are having. I have been to third world countries that I have met the most incredible people, making my journey there even more special. People make the world go round and in all honesty, they are the best part of traveling.

Thank you so much for visiting my market Friday and I just want to send out my things for the wonderful post that you share with all of us. I hope you are having a wonderful time wherever you are and whatever you're doing. I know it's interesting and also and I'm so glad that you bring it our way.

The people we meet infect us with energy and positive thinking, so our trips are the more exquisite and we like to detach ourselves from everyday life very much.

Thank you my friend.

I am truly happy for you :))))

WHEW

Enjoyed looking at all your vacationy cruising things..... something like being in a fantasy. Hard to imagine it existing..... like fairytales.... it's hard to fathom it being real.

It is part of a fairytale most times. It's not real life, or how real life is for me, but it is something that I think I could truly get used to. I was made for cruising. Honestly.

Is that some of the biggest surprises are the tiny things that you don't expect and you almost missed the first time around. It's the little tiny touches that really make my day. Making my bed, and then at the end of the day, a turn down with chocolate covered strawberries on a little dish just for you. Some Nights, there's a couple brownies and milk in the fridge. It's always fresh leaf vacuum and it wasn't done by me.

One night I couldn't decide what to have for dinner of the entrees that they offered, so brought me two entrees so I could have a little bit of both. Oh my God, who does that? Suffice to say, it is a wonderful experience and I am very grateful to have it.

Thank you for visiting my market Friday and for putting out one of your own. I know that I am slow and getting to them, but I do like to take my time going through them and enjoying them instead of racing through them just to get them done. So bear with me while I go through them and just know that I will be there. Thank you so much.

From one cruise lover to another.......these images are soooooo awesome @dswigle. How can one not LOVE cruising? I need to go and read your last post about this trip because I don't want to miss any detail. Thank you for making yearn for my next cruise .......very prematurely, but very strong, never the less. (U & R )

I've missed the last few Market Friday's but am happy to have a post organized for this week. Here is the link

Oh it's so lovely to speak from one Cruiser to another. There is just something so peaceful and carefree about Cruisin and I truly believe I was born for it. LOL don't we all?

I'm always so Torn Between the big ships in the small ships because both offer to very wonderful and distinctly different kinds of cruising. The small ones offer peaceful little corners to read in and quiet dinners and I would say mostly people on the older side. The bigger ships offer more wow and more opulence and different experiences, although I did not say that the small ones offer opulence they do, in a much more genteel Way. So sometimes it's hard when you are booking ahead to figure out which one is best for you at that time, but I can honestly say that I've never been on a bad Cruise. What's not to love?

I'm not sure if anybody has ever taken care of me so well. LOL thank you for taking the time to put together a market Friday. It is always a pleasure to see you.

I understand exactly what you are saying Denise. It's good to do the comparisons between the ships and we are inclined to stick to the ones we have enjoyed previously. Unfortunately we have to take a flight to Sydney from Brisbane as the port does not cater for the larger ships and this adds to the cost of the cruise .

The only challenges we have faced is having our destinations diverted due to cyclones, but I'd rather that, than the captain take a risk with his crew and passengers.

But I love flying as well, so it's not too much of a hardship (pardon the pun) to enjoy a two hour flight to get us to Sydney from here. We haven't got our next cruise booked but John is always on the lookout for good deals and sails away regularly vicariously through others in between our own cruise. (lol)

It was , as always is, a pleasure to do a Market Friday post. My contribution has been rather intermittent of late but will endeavour to participate when time permits. Hope you are well and enjoying life my friend.

Sighhhhh... makes me want to go on one of those cruises.... So much to do, so little time.... Thank you for sharing your holiday with us - makes us feel on holiday too!! Even if just for some minutes... :)
Cheers and have a great week ahead!!

Aren't they the most fun? I do like going on them and it makes for a most enjoyable holiday. It's nice when you can just walkabout and have everything taken care of for you. When everything is included and they treat you like a queen, what's not to love? I'm saying right along with you right now because my time is over and is back to reality, which is in a really bad thing except that I believe I was made for vacation. LOL I find myself love being treated like that. There's nothing wrong with that!

Thank you for visiting Market Friday, you are always a pleasure to have.

Hahaha - "made for vacation!" - oooohhhh, I love that! Exactly - what's not to love, lol....
And what's better than being on vacation? ;) ...is being on vacation with great friends! :D
