En aquel tiempo, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: «Habéis oído que se dijo: “Amarás a tu prójimo’ y aborrecerás a tu enemigo”.
Pero yo os digo: amad a vuestros enemigos y rezad por los que os persiguen, para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre celestial, que hace salir su sol sobre malos y buenos, y manda la lluvia a justos e injustos.

Porque, si amáis a los que os aman, ¿qué premio tendréis? ¿No hacen lo mismo también los publicanos? Y, si saludáis solo a vuestros hermanos, ¿qué hacéis de extraordinario? ¿No hacen lo mismo también los gentiles? Por tanto, sed perfectos, como vuestro Padre celestial es perfecto».
Amad… así seréis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en el cielo. ¿Cómo es Dios? El padre que hace salir el sol sobre malos y buenos y manda la lluvia sobre justos e injustos. Y el texto pone en primer lugar a malos.

Sed perfectos, como es Dios Padre, para mostraros como hijos de Dios
No pongáis límites al amor; amad, amad al que os persigue y calumnia al que os aborrece y al enemigo; así tendréis la experiencia más increíble que una persona puede tener: seréis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en el cielo.

Dios me ama, no porque yo sea bueno sino porque él es bueno. Para mostrarte como hijo de Dios bueno ama sin líneas rojas en el amor. No actúes como los paganos, o sea como gente que no conoce al Dios Amor, ni actúes como los publicanos, que actúan como si Dios no existiese.

Que la experiencia de saberte hijo de Dios te lleve a construir una sociedad de justicia y misericordia, de bondad y fraternidad, una sociedad en la que la palabra amor no sea una palabra vacía o una falsificación del camino de la plenitud humana que encontramos en el amor.
Ama y serás feliz. Ama y serás hijo de Dios. Ama y tu vida tendrá todo su sentido.
