Trump thinks Kansas City is in Kansas? hahahaha
Please note that I am being sarcastic with my headline there. However, this is exactly the reaction from anyone that hates the Don and it was not at all surprising that they reacted to his tweet the way that they did.
So the liberal media outlets and an army of sanctimonious Twitter and Facebook users wasted no time attacking Trump for not knowing his geography and country. The accusations of him being stupid and what not went on from there. You could see this coming from a mile away and he could have Tweeted literally anything else and it would have been mocked as well.
Here are a few problems I have with anyone criticizing the President for congratulating Kansas after Kansas City won the Super Bowl.
- Kansas City is in Kansas, it's also in Missouri, they are the same city
- The stadium is in fact on the Missouri side of the city, but nobody cares, both states claim the team
- A vast majority of the population of the United States, including a lot of the people pointing and laughing at the president right now, did not know those first 2 things until yesterday.
That doesn't stop the Trump hating news stations and papers from talking about this for hours and bringing in experts on the subject. Guys! Nobody is going to change their minds about the man because of this.
Missouri and Kansas overwhelmingly voted for Trump in 2016 and i would bet the farm...on the Kansas side of Kansas City... that they do so again in 2020.
If he had made the tweet congratulating Missouri for the win the media would have accused him of not congratulating the people of Kansas. This is not even remotely surprising.
I am quite certain that is correct.
