Caviteño made Pininyahang Manok!
Filipino Style Dish made by truly yours :)
Earlier this morning, we were about to take our Lunch and thinking what would be our meal to dig in. Then I look in the fridge and saw a sliced chicken, thinking what should I cook for this kind of meat. We already made Chicken Caldereta for lunch yesterday and Chicken Adobo for dinner, so maybe something new. Then I decided to cook Chicken in Pineapple Sauce or Pininyahang Manok in Filipino Dish.
I know you might be thinking that "where's the pineapple?" well there's no available pineapple in nearby stores so alternatively, and to taste the same, I added... Later I'll show you.. :P
How to cook Caviteño made Pininyahang Manok without the Real Pineapple
So let's start...
First, you need 1 whole Onion, 3 Garlic Cloves, and a Ginger. Mince the onion or slice it into strips, same as the ginger but it's up to you. Anyways, mince the garlic cloves as well. Once done, saute the garlic and onion in oil and allow the flavor to mellow into the dish, and let the aroma to hit its peak when you can smell the garlic and onion and your mouth starts watering! Lol! Add ginger, salt, and pepper to fulfill your destiny as a chef... Joke! Haha
Second, simply add the sliced chicken and patis(fish sauce) then reduce heat to medium-low, let it simmer until tender. It’s one of the best ways to cook them uniformly and consistently by applying low heat from every angle.
And of course, to make the dish accordingly the secret ingredient is...
Haha... I know what you're thinking... Yes, Tang Pineapple!
You can add any type of pineapple juice if you're short on pineapple chunks... You may also add the pineapple juice while simmering to its flavorful.
Lastly, add the sliced hotdogs and evaporated milk to complete the dish and let it simmer for 5mins.
Voila! You've made a Pininyahang Manok! Easy and simple right? :D
