RE: Traveling with family. The Würzburg residence
Hey @lindahas,
places I can recommend, which are not too far: Bamberg and Regensburg. Both are exceptionally beautiful, for all the right reasons! Both are pretty historic cities, both have unique elements (like "little Venice" in Bamberg, or the gorgeous "Dom" in Regensburg" and many, many others) to discover. Both have their own university, so they are buzzing with life, during the day and at night alike. And it is really not far from Würzburg! ;)
Hmm. I have heard some great things about Bamberg. I think I should go there when my mom and brother visits again. I really want to go to the caste on the mountain (In the south, not far from Austrian border). That is the most spectacular thing that I have seen. At least online. I hope to see it in real life soon. I am fascinated with castles and palaces.
Thanks for the suggestions. I will have to check Regensburg out as I have not really heard about it! :)
By any chance, you mean "Neuschwanstein"? I have been there recently! There are actually two castles, "Hohenschwangau" and "Neuschwanstein" close to each other. Both are fascinating! Brace yourself for high fees and a ton of tourists though, I think this is one of the most popular places in beautiful Bavaria!
Yes, yes, yes! I mean it! It has a very long and very complicated name :D I was told by my boyfriends dad that there are two and the other one is beautiful as well. I really want to take my mom there when she visits, I think it would be grand!
I guess such a place can be nothing less than expensive :D Should probably aim for early morning and non-holidays to go there. That might reduce the peoples amount just a little bit. Thank you! :)
