Light Of My Life

Text: Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The thought of God being our light is one that should always delight His children. Light is good. Light reveals any disorder that may be present The chaos that exists in a life is revealed when the light comes. The Light begins to bring order and balance to that which was hidden by the darkness. Darkness cannot overcome light but must give way to the power of the light. The first thing that must happen in a redeemed life is the separation of light and dark. Really, God is the light of our lives, John 8: 12; and His light never go out. Job in his distress remembered the days When he walked th rough the darkness of life by God's light (Job 29: 2-3). The Psalmist sought for the light of God's face and light of life so that he Will not sleep the sleep of death (Psalm 13:3-5). It is in God's light thathe see light because with Him is the fountain of life (Psalm 36:9).

I John 1: 5-7

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

During the Israelites' journey through the desert, God was their constant supply of light. His light gives life. God's light is a means of direction. His light gives victory. It guides. It is safe to walk in the light of God's presence. We can scale through hurdles and challenges if we use the light He has given usHis Word. When darkness covers the land, God‘s people will have light to guide and protect them. We must also remember that we have been called into that light(1Pet 2:9); and we are the light ofthe world. Hence, we must walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8). God is 'Light, in Him is no darkness at all ; therefore, we His children must not be unequally yoked or have fellowship with any work of darkness. He is a Sun and Shield to us.
