ACHIEVEMENT2: BASIC STEEM SECURITY

Hello lovely steemit community, I am Emediong Bassey and I am very delighted to be here and also being able to learn, grow and improve my personality at a very accelerated rate. My major source of grow, inspiration and motivation on this platform is that everyone on this platform is nready to teach, guide and support me towards achieving success on this platform. As a newcomer , I was clueless but with the help of these great people, I’ve been able to grow into great steemian. The moment I kick started my journey on the steemit platform, I enrolled for Achievement 1 and I was verified but I’ve not been upvoted uptil now, although I’m very confident that this lovely family will be of full support. The Achievement 2 is of necessity for every new Steemian because it guides you on the the important security system of the Steemit platform, how to use the respective keys to login into steeemit posting platform and also access the steemwallet platform too. I would be supplying answers to the questions asked:
QUESTION 1: Have you recovered all your keys in steemit?
Answer: Upon my full registration on the steemit platform, I downloaded the PDF file that included all my active keys and further proceeded to saving and backing it up for safe keeping, after understanding that steemit does not make provisions for account recovery after account loss. So, my answer to this question is YES!
QUESTION 2: Are you familiar with each of these key features and restrictions?
Answer: Yes, I’ve succinctly studied and gotten myself acquainted with these security keys, their purposes and the points of their utilization on the steemit platform. I can also show you the different keys and their respective purposes on the platform.
Posting Key: This is a very sensitive whose function enables the posting , upvoting, downvoting, resteeming, following and even commenting on the steemit platform. Without this key, it is difficult to post or blog on the steemit platform.
Active Key: This key is tagged “The Transactional key” that enable financial transactions on Steemwallet (the steemit wallet). These transactions includes Transferring of steem cryptocurrency or the steem dollars (SBD). It enable powering up or down(gaining or losing) of Steem Power. This key is also required for the conversion of SBD to Steem and upvoting of posts on the steemit platform. Without this key, it is difficult to make transactions on the platform, and worthy to note is that the posting key cannot replace this key when trying to make transactions.
Owner Key: This is a very important key that is utilized in the reseting of other keys in events of account thefts. It is a very sensitive key that must be well secured because your account can be compromised if it falls into the wrong hands. This key can also be used to redeem an account that has been compromised after 30days period.
Master Key: As the implies, this key acts like the highly regarded master key. This key is the most superior key and it is the key used to generate other keys. So therefore, the master is capable of being used to steal your account or assess your blog or wallet. Therefore it is of most importance that this key is concealed from anyone and must be safely backed up, so as to enable account recovery, in events of account recovery.

QUESTION 3: How do plan to keep your master key safe?
My Master key has successfully saved on my Google drive cloud storage account, on my email account, and I’ve written it down on a jotter and safely stored it amongst s my important cred entials at home. All these options are safely beyond the reach of any third party.
QUESTION 4: Do I know how to transfer my steem token to another steem user account?
Answer: Certainly, I do. Of which I’m going to share the steps below:
Step 1: Login into your steemit account using your private posting

Step 2: Go to wallet

Step 3: Click on the drop arrow. It shows the steem transaction option

Step 4: Click on Transfer. This option carries you to the Steemwallet login page.

Step 5: Enter your private active key and the steem will be transferred

QUESTION 5: Do you know to perform the power up process in Steem?
Answer: Certainly Yes, I know how perform power ups with steem. The following steps can be used to perform this task:
Step 1: Go to wallet

Step 2: Click on the drop arrow. It shows the steem transaction option

Step 3: Click on Power Up. This option carries you to the Steemwallet login page.

Step 4: Enter your private active key and you’ll be powered up

Once you’ve inserted your Active key, you’ll be powered up. Not powering depends on the steem value or SBD value utilized.
