A fire disaster occurred in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, three houses burned down in Peusangan District in two Villages (Gampong) on ​​Tuesday, 08/05/2025.

The first fire occurred at around 03.30 WIB, where a wooden house with tepas walls belonging to Muhammad Yasir (31), in Nicah Village, Peusangan, which was occupied by his wife and three children, was burned down along with its contents.

Then, a semi-permanent house belonging to Muhammad Lateh (73), Muhammad Yasir's father-in-law, which was occupied by his wife and two children, with a location close by 1 meter from M Yasir's house, was also burned down along with its contents.

Furthermore, another wooden house belonging to Nurlela (65), in Cot Bada Barat Village, Peusangan, about 1 km west of the previously burned house, was also burned down along with its contents, at around 04.30 WIB.

There were no casualties in the fire that destroyed three houses. However, the disaster caused three heads of families (KK) to lose their homes consisting of eight people.

Five fire engines (Damkar) from the Bireuen Regency Government were also deployed by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to help handle and extinguish the fire together with members of the Peusangan Police and residents.

The rapid spread of the fire resulted in the three houses that burned down being unable to be saved. The major impact of the disaster was that eight people lost their homes.

According to information, the two houses that burned down in Nicah Peusangan Village (Gampong) belonged to Muhammad Yasir (31 years old), a wooden construction house with a thatched roof occupied by his wife Lindayani (31 years old), and three children Muhammad Irsyad (8 years old), Muhammad Alfatih (8 years old), Muhammad Syafid Ahktar (5 years old).

Muhammad Yasir explained that at that time he was asleep, suddenly, his wife woke up when she heard a loud noise outside which she thought was rain accompanied by wind. When looking outside, it turned out that the flames had already burned the back wall of his parents' house which was only 1 meter from the alley in front of his house.

"Spontaneously we ran out to save ourselves and woke up our father and mother and children who were sleeping with their grandmother," said Muhammad Yasir.

According to him, the source of the fire was not yet known, suddenly it got bigger, no property could be saved, one Honda Vario 160 motorbike belonging to Muhammad Yasir was also burned.

Then, after the officers finished extinguishing the fire, they received a request for help from a house fire in Gampong Cot Bada Barat, Peusangan District. Five fire engines were immediately deployed to the second location followed by one PLN ULP Bireuen car. However, the speed of the fire spread, the wooden construction house belonging to Nurlela (65 years old), was burned down along with its contents.

According to information from the surrounding community, when the incident occurred the owner of the house was not there because he had gone to his child's house in IDI, East Aceh Regency for Eid al-Fitr.

That morning, residents around suddenly heard a loud noise. When confirmed, it turned out that there was a house fire. "The cause of the fire is not yet known for sure because there is no homeowner.
