Kalahari - Gemsbok
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a new reserve, which was opened in May 2000 by mutual agreement between South Africa and Botswana, which united Kalahari and Gemsbok.
For the most part, the park is a protected area of the southern part of the Kalahari Desert: the natural conditions here are very harsh, and the struggle for survival is boiling in earnest. The main inhabitants of the reserve are hundreds of antelopes, birds of prey, lions, leopards and cheetahs. Almost all of Africa's fauna is represented here, except for elephants, giraffes and zebras.
The park is divided into several large areas, the communication between which is possible only on all-wheel drive (4x4) cars. The South African part of the park is wedged between the rivers Nossob ("Nossob", "dark mud") and Auob ("bitter water"). On the territory of the park to this day live the ancient tribes of the worlds and Khomani.
