Words Are Really Powerful

Hello Friends,

I greet you all and welcome you to my blog, where I would be telling you about the power of our words.

Words are simply a combination of sounds that has a meaning and are either spoken, written or thoughts of the mind, in the sense that what runs in our minds decides our facial appearance and might give an idea of what we are thinking and an understanding without being aired out.

The kind of combination of sounds one chooses to alter makes everyone different. I believe that the choices of words we choose to use set our lives. I believe what you speak is what you represent, the art of expression everyone possesses can either contribute positively or negatively to their lives and the society at large, as one strives to excel in life.

The real power in our words is the meaning and interpretation one attaches to it, which is also the real power in life. In our course of life, we go through events, and the meaning we choose to attach to that event can be inspiring to our lives and others if the meaning is positive.

Our first approach to a situation isn't always conscious, but then we can step in and reframe the meaning to be better if we feel it can be changed. For example, I experience a step back, I failed a test in school, but it doesn't mean am a failure, I didn't see myself as sure rather it was a stepping stone, as I needed to work harder in other to be better. Everyone possesses the ability to attach meaning to spoken words. We can all cultivate a positive interpretation of nearly all events in our lives and not necessarily extend issues by using words.

Words can change a person's perspective of reasoning, it can make a difference, it can give rise to a smiley face, and that face would be glad and grateful to God it met you, which I believe is a great accomplishment and great joy because your kind words had changed a life.

I remember an incident I was opportune to intervene. A young lady was in distress, she thought her life was miserable, and she saw herself as the worst person on earth to have committed an abortion, she felt like a murderer, which she vividly was but that shouldn't amount to giving up on life, and thinking you cannot be betterI said.

I was glad to have met her and helped her understand a lot, that things happen for a reason, that maybe that child wasn't meant to come at that point of her life and that God never gives up on anyone, rather he waits patiently for one to acknowledge him. I didn't do anything tangible for her, but I made her realize she can be better and shouldn't allow a single mistake to weigh her down as it might result in another.

Words are cheap though, but worth a lot if used properly.

Thanks.
