the strange story of Climate Change and Happy People and MusicsteemCreated with Sketch.

A beautiful morning and promising day today, again! Although we are polluting the atmosphere with to much CO2 causing changing weather patterns throughout the world, with more extremes, the results to my little country the Netherlands are wonderful. It seems to become a less mild climate here, at least this year. Warmer spring and summer, and colder autumn and possibly winter...and much...much less rain!

Don't get me wrong, I still think we shall make the transition towards renewable energies ASAP! But regarding the weather I have to deal with most of the days, I can only say: I LOVE it!

Some side effects (at least this year):

  • less income for our farmers; at some point in time this summer they where not allowed to take water from the rivers to spray their crops
  • lower fuel prices at the gas stations since fossil fuels cannot be transported to the rest of Europe over water anymore, therefore building up our buffers
  • better business at our beach places
  • happier people

and

  • Better Festival experience

The later is a HUGE positive side effect! :)

This summer, the most cozy festival we have "Wildeburg" benefited tremendously: Great Weather, Great Vibe...and fortunately also Great Music.

One of the acts on the "Helling" stage: Applescal back2back with Some Chemistry. I suppose we shall call this house, but moves towards ambient, tribal and at times techno-ish sound.

Started listing this set again this morning with a nice cup of coffee and a wonderful sunny sight in front of me, causing my mind to move to nice and positive places.

Hope it'll do the same for you!

Yesterday while driving back from Schiphol to Rotterdam I was thinking about solving transportation problems in XX vs XXI century. In XX century problems on the roads were "solving" by adding additional lanes. It didn't decrease traffics but increase number of cars with 1 person inside constantly shifting, overtaking and passing each other. Often that kind of actions on the road causes "snake effect traffic". Yesterday it caused reduction to 50kmph on the 5-lanes highway and actually it wasn't anything strange, quite standard... Modern way of solving the same issues are more about carpooling, low pollution areas, smart parking systems and autonomous vehicles. Combined effort on all of these factors can speed up cars on the road and slow down changes in our climate.

I will check the music later because soon I am going out to enjoy the nice weather :) have a nice weekend !

Hahaha, indeed! When I was in university (few decades ago), I already learned about the best way of transportation to prevent jams, which is auto-driving. All vehicles at the same speed on the highway, whilst be able to drive the last miles from the highway to our destination at our own speed. I see this being implemented sometime in the future; We will have 100% time to enjoy music, without the need to watch the road anymore.

Enjoy your day!
