SteemIndia Contest : Ideas to make a Community Better and Successful by @educator23

Hello Guys.

This is Prabhjot Singh from INDIA.
How are you all? I hope everyone is fine and doing well. A great Concept by our own country representative and admin of the @steemindiaa community Miss @monzz122. As I'm into the digital field and I love steemit and this community. I'm going to share some tips and Ideas which according to me will bring out the best in this community.

Understanding the Purpose & Goals

Communities must have a strong purpose and dedication level. There has to be an ultimate goal for which the community & its people should be working. A community without a goal faces the same outcome as a ship without a captain. Communities should implement Target System. It is simply having a monthly target that all the community members have to accomplish. for e.g. creating 20 posts a month would be a monthly target or Making meaningful comments or recruiting 5 people.

Engagement & Nurturing

Engagement in communities has to be made with an impact and not with force. You can't just tell someone to engage in a community. Your community has to have hooks and nurturing tactics for retaining your visitors. There has to be something for the people that they are seeking.

In the steemit case, it is obviously steem tokens. People dive in as they learn they will get steem tokens but most of them will just surf out because their post doesn't get upvoted but just giving something they want either will not be enough to retain the people.

Teaching them some ethics to grow in steemit will be better for the community. Like Our workplaces have their own rules and regulations, a community should also have its rules. Some rules have to be different from other communities that will become a culture in the community.

Recruitment Drill

People comes to a community have their time and then leave. This is what I have seen in many places whether it's steemit, discord nft communities or Facebook/WhatsApp groups. So, a community must have a plan to recruit more people and some of them will definitely find a home in the community.

Recruitments drills are conducted by integrating different social channels. In steemit case, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter would be a great deal for recruitment. A community has to include such kind of contest, where the community people go to their social channels and promote the community.

Training Drill

Every community possess some powers and their is a lot to learn within communities. Newcomers should get proper guidance and a monthly or weekly meeting should be planned for the growth of a community.

Pro tip- Record a video of a live webinar teaching about community and other things and upload it to Youtube and whenever a new member joins it would be easy for them to understand the basics. Follow-ups for newcomers and teaching them how to grow within a community are a must.

Snakes & Ladder Game

We as Humans love the bar of our success graph going upside because it thrills us and gives us a sense of satisfaction. Every time we cross a level in a game or pass a class, we feel the same. I suggest there has to be a ranking system in a community that signifies roles for community members. I'll give you the example of an nft community, what they do is the one with the most joining gets the special role of minting the nft at half the price. sometimes a free nft is given for performing well in the community as the most engaging person. These are the things that acquire the interest of people because people love free things.

A snake and ladder game-type system should be implemented in the community. In steemit, I suggest there has to be a way to achieve the MOD and Country Representative role(However, this one is decided by the steem team) and some new roles have to be introduced like junior, senior, or gold/ platinum. I've been in a game community and whenever there is a weekly challenge where a community has to take on another, the admins state the one with the most wins gets a role promotion and suddenly all the members play well. I started from a member, then bronze, silver, and all the way to MOD( This took me 2 years to achieve, However, this was not a social position)

The Fun Element

There have to be some activities for fun within a community like weekly & monthly contest. Engagement drives like Giving comments on your favorite community member, Challenging your community member for a drawing, or a photography challenge. Connecting people with people by the encouragement of learning about other cultures and many more fun things.

Also learning something new is a fun game. so, a community can organize an all-are-winner contest. In these types of contests, there are no rewards but it makes the community strong and engaging. As they say, something is always better than nothing so there has to be something going on in the community which people can relate to and participate in with a free will.

This is my Duty

When the community is taking every step possible for the betterment of its people then it is our duty to give back. Community people have to follow all the guidelines and work with them. Random gestures of contribution towards the community would be a good way to pay back.

Giving a percentage share of your rewards to the community, promoting the community at local levels, engaging with utmost dedication, and coming up with different ideas to help the community would be great ways.
