At present, it is the harvest season of golden Pomfret. In the southwest sea area of Dongshan County, Chen Jingchuan, a farmer, has to catch nearly 20000 Jin of golden pomfret every day and sell it to Fujian, Guangdong and other places.

Ten years ago, due to overfishing, the ecology of this area was destroyed. Fishermen could only breed oysters with long cycle, low efficiency and high density.

To solve the problem of vicious circle, we must first guide the people to use the sea in a standardized and scientific way. In 2018, XIAXIKENG village took the lead in the comprehensive management of marine ecology. The natural resources planning department not only handled the first sea area use right certificate for the village, but also put the disordered and unmanaged 5000 mu sea area under the collective management of the village.

Taking ecology as the "lifeline" of development, the comprehensive improvement of marine ecology in Dongshan County has been continuously upgraded, and the red line for marine ecological protection has been drawn in Fujian Province. Today, Dongshan has not only built a national marine ranch demonstration area, but also made Dongshan seafood reach the world through e-commerce.

At present, Dongshan County has deeply integrated ecological protection, tourism, sports and other emerging industries, and has built a number of industrial bases such as fish bone sandbanks and sailboats. According to statistics, in 2019, Dongshan County received 7.21 million tourists and realized tourism revenue of 7.49 billion yuan.
