Together we can: The Steem Delta blockchain adventure
When the first sets of announcement went up for the steem Delta meet up and I was called to give a brief talk at the function, I realized that I had to turn up come rain or shine and it was not a funny journey.
The journey
On tuesday, myself ( @ehiboss), @mimy, @illuminatus, @mediahousent set out from the South West to the South South. It was a rather frustrating journey we had as a simple journey of four hours, ended up taking thirteen hours and the only the that kept us going was the fact that we had no choice but to spread the steemit love.
We left Ile-Ife around 8:30am thinking we were going to arrive Sapele by noon, because we already had a lodge at Sapele from which we were going to proceed to Warri for the event. Fate had a rather tough decision for us. Our driver ran out of fuel, we were delayed for about one hour at Ondo State...Pictures below
After we thought our woes were over, we met another terrible fate. Our vehicle broke down in Edo state and this time we spent over four hours waiting for a mechanic that never showed up. Eventually we got fed up and decided to look for another vehicle and we got into the main Benin town
We had to stand beside the road for an hour or more before we eventually got a cab after doing another Israelite journey from Benin town to the place where we stood. It was all worth it though because we eventually got there intact and it was one hell of an experience.
We got settled in late and had to quickly do a couple of things and make a lot of calls. I was so stressed I was unable to post. Took a shower after lodging and after which it was time for food. Slept late and still had to wake up early.
The event
We went to Warri and met a lot of steemians, six of us departed Sapele to Warri and this time the journey was better than the first. We got there safe and sound and like I said we met new and old faces.
We saw @ejemai, @tfame3865, @nmalove, @tojukaka, @nairadaddy, @michaelcj the Santa, @ewuoso and a host of others. The place was in the festive mood and Shop rite Warri had a lot of side attractions which made it fun.
We also had some quality bonding time with the organizers @destinysaid and @tojukaka
We gave our lectures, took pictures and had a ton of fun, I still have a hard time gathering all my pictures in one location, perhaps I will soon enough, but I was able to get some from @ewuoso. Gifts were given out to attendees, everyone had fun and took a lot of pictures.
From there we journeyed back to Sapele and lodged, I forgot to mention that a few of us went round the shop rite plaza and bought a lot of things. Steem Delta was fun and I learnt a lot of things. Videos will be uploaded soon.

@lordneroo
Could have been there 😭😭😭😭😭
Wow you guys are really repping the Nigerian community. Thank you very much as you contribute your quota to make steemit greater and better
I am totally depressed seeing this. I would have got the chance to meet up with these guys. Just as you had a bad time in Benin when travelling, I experienced the same. I would have been in that picture and make sure I took a lot of photos with rest steemians.
The bus I boarded had a breakdown somewhere close to sapele, between Ologbo and Ugbenu. I had no choice than to return back home. What a heck of experience! I missed!
With the huge success of the meet-up IN Delta state, the stress was all worth it. Well done
It was nice seeing you guys.. I will opt in for another meetup anytime anyday..
You guys are just too wonderful, @ehiboss and #team
You really took your time to proclaim the gospel of #steemit outside there, I know is not an easy task to organise such programme but your committment towards keeping this community growing is what speak out here.Kudos to you.

Honestly, despite what you faced on your way heading to Delta, you never allow that to weigh you down but you guys took it upon yourself to see the success of the programme. This just proved that you are really one of those that fully have the love of this community burning in your heart.
