The moon, why?
Defined not by definition
Driven not by destination
Designated not by denomination........
Dominated and declared,
the drifter of the sky.
Deceiving the eyesight of small children
with a bright light of no darkness
Disagreeing with gravity
And disobedient to men, disregarding their
incessant pleas,
To get closer
And come down.
The drifter in the sky
Knowing fully well
The disadvantages of casting itself down
And drowning it's being in the doom of men.
Happy Sunday folks. Today's been really great for me, cause i went to church and so on. Hope it was great for you also. Anyways I'm not that tired today like i was yesterday so it's all good.
DIVING DEEP
So how i got to writing this particular poem is that i came across an African folklore, which really intrigued me. That was when i was a child though, but i still remember it well. I then read and loved it. So......... that's what i wrote about in today's piece. It's primarily about the moon.
It's kinda hard to know that, that's what it's about because of the plentiful D's in the poem, but like i said its about the moon and humans.
stanza one
I'll try to explain it as much as i can, briefly though. It's seen here that the moon is called "the drifter of the sky" which means that during the night, which is the only time the moon "looks" to be roaming the sky, but isn't scientifically. Well it's said to not have any destination but is driven, as it looks as if it's roaming the sky.
stanza two
It's says here that the moon is deceiving the eyes of little children who are naive and thinks the moon is running away. But the other adults are not happy with the fact that the moon is so far in the sky, they actually want it to live with them like the animals.
But the moon would have none of it because something that men did made him go to live in the sky in the first place. I'll write a second part to fully complete it because it's kinda long being an African folklore and all. I think I'm really digging this idea of African folklore and I'll keep at it, it's pretty fun.
So till next time guys please always stay tuned for more good poetry.
