Araniella curcurbitina

in #busy7 years ago

A small, beautiful spider and not at all scary! Araniella cucurbitina, sometimes called the "green cucumber spider", is a spider of the family Araneidae.

It occurs infrequently on deciduous trees (most often on birch trees) at the beginning of summer. Mini-copy of the cross, and the networks are the same, only small ones. Weaving two types of networks - small horizontal and larger vertical. Weaves egg cocoons of light yellow color, reinforced on the outside with a more durable cobweb.
