Give it your all

It's another day where your feet hits the ground and you know it is work day.

You get to work, excited,full of energy to get your week started. And just when you are about to start, there's a letter on your desk.

It is a query, your brows crease in full concentration and then it turns into big frown. You are wondering, where and how it happened.

Now you do the recall and realise that you didn't flop anywhere. You decide to take long strides to your boss's office to ask those questions that have been on your mind.

But then you get to the door, as your fingers turn the knob and you poke your head into his office with your twitched lips. He raise his hands, a gesture for you to stop.

And then says;

"Do your job well Michael, or you'll get fired. I mean I am paying you for your work aren't I?"

"But sir....." You begin to explain yourself as a way to set the records straight.

He doesn't give you a chance and then says;

"There's nothing you are going to say, just go and do your job". And then he dismisses you.

The shock turns to confusion then rage and you finally come to decision. The decision might sound like;

a) I'll reduce the energy I put into this, since it is not appreciated.

b) I'll do more so I'll not get a query.

Pheww!!! Well, that is a typical work experience for some persons.

Remember, it's not about them it is about you. You don't stop doing what is right because you're not appreciated. At the same time, you do not do it as eye service.

You do it because you have a duty, it is your job description. You have to be honest, faithful and committed to your work.

Most importantly you do it because of God.

Oftentimes people just give half-hearted service. Maybe because of the seeming reward attached to what they do. But it is better to not do anything at all, than to work and not give it your best shot.

Whether it is personal business, work or a project. Whatever it is you're involved in;

GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
