CAUSES OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY(ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY).

Teenage pregnancy, also known as adolescent pregnancy, is pregnancy in a female under the age of 20. Teenage pregnancy is associated with intense stress and trauma in both the girl and her parents, and family.

Without boring you, I'd like to quickly outline and explain the causes of teenage pregnancy.

1. Late sex education.
   Parents most especially the mothers sometimes are to be blame for their teenage daughter's pregnancy. Mums feels its too awkward discussing sex to their daughter but that shouldn't be the case. The earlier you school your daughter about premarital sex and abstaining from it then the better for her.

2. No freedom.
   Parents keep their daughters inside all the time because they feel its safer for her inside than outside. She doesn't attend functions a alone without her parents accompanying her. Mistake mums make is keep their children locked inside and not letting her see the real world. Just because you're always with her through her pre-nursery education through to her secondary education means you're going to be with her throughout her stay in the fall walls of the university. Do not forget if you keep her locked inside all the time, the moment she gets her freedom, she'll explore all the things she has always wanted to that you've been stopping her like partying and chilling with friends and that in turn could lead to pregnancy in the long run.

3. Poverty/broken home.
   I was only 13 years when my mum and dad first separated, our neighbours told my mum to take me and sisters to my grandmother in the village so I wouldn't get pregnant, funny right. My mum wasn't having so much money then but she always schooled me about relationships and sex. Poverty has made many teenagers go through the stress of adolescent pregnancies. Some teenagers are willing to take money for food and giving their bodies in return. A little girl about 17 years told my course mate to sleep with her and give her #500 so she would buy herself dinner.

4. Porn movies/lust.
   Some teenagers watch porn movies secretly and practice it secretly too. Watching Porn movies makes them horny and then they use that as an excuse to venture into premarital sex.

5. Rape and sexual abuse.
   This is the most painful part of teenage pregnancy. My cousin who's is just 13 years was rape on her way to church on sunday on gunpoint by some stupid asshole in bayelsa state. Rape and sexual abuse has led to plenty record of adolescent pregnancies.

6. Wong relationship.
   Peer pressure and influence can also lead to teenage pregnancy. Bad company corrupts good manners they say. A friend who has tried it could pressure her other teenage friend to try it out too.

In Conclusion.
Teenage pregnancy has lead to so many deaths of female teenagers. A 14 years old girl died in Ogobiri town of bayelsa state because she couldn't push at the point of delivery. Another one almost died after doing an abortion, she almost bled to for days and 1 thank God she's all better now School your female children, sisters and friends about contraceptives, protection and other things involved in premarital sex.
