How "Minimalism" can Impact Your Life.

in #minimalism6 years ago

I was introduced to the philosophy of minimalism as a senior in high school. Since then I have tried to implement various aspects of the philosophy in my life, particularly around conspicuous consumption. Nowadays, I live my life out of a suitcase and have dramatically reduced the number of material goods I acquire and hold on to. coupled with this minimalist lifestyle has been the shift in time preference as the result of bitcoin and SOUND MONEY.

thank you for your time and attention, see you in the comments!

Cool. I try to live with a minimalist life style as well, I always ask myself if I need the thing I want, cause my heart always wants more, but my needs are not the same as my wants.

When I need new clothes I make sure to get rid of my old items so Im not stacking clothes I dont need. Its a good approach I think.

I like the new clothes in old clothes out model. I have essentially gotten to a place where I am replacing a particular item of clothing with an exact same replica (ie. the shoes im wearing in the video are the second pair of the exact same shoes I had before).

the hearts desire for things is a strong allure. however, as im sure you know, it can never fully satisfy or bring long term happiness.

I've read and thought about this a lot, too. I read "Your Money Or Your Life" when I was younger and it was influential in how I thought and my decisions.

I have a certain minimalism now, but it is not necessarily by choice. And I do have too much disorganized junk that I need to get rid of or arrange to make my living and work space better... but I haven't had any extra money to just buy stuff in a long time.

Even with that, there are things that I "have" to buy and I try to make sure they are quality, so I don't have to keep on buying replacements. I also spend a lot on good food for my family. I consider that an investment in our health, which is important to me.

I enjoy your videos. Good work.

food, travel, books, and bitcoin. That is basically what I have reduced my spending too. I couldn't agree more that investing in good food (healthy, non GMO, etc) is money well spent. Think it is noble that you are taking on that cost on behalf of your kids.

I think even living a minimal life (not by choice) is good. I imagine the day I become a father it will be hard for me not to want to buy whatever it is my kids ask for.

the benefits of a minimal work environment are so so crucial. I work best at an empty desk with no phones or distractions (maybe a little bit of music)

thank you for your kind words. I enjoy your book reviews equally (and will dedicate more time to watching and commenting on them as it means the world to me that you have taken an interest in my videos)

YAY SHOUTOUT!
