How Poor People Try to Pretend About Their Status of Wealth.

in Project HOPE4 years ago

We live in a world of social media where everyone is majorly concerned about what other people think about them and this often leads to making decisions that will only help for a short time instead of looking at a way of making long term decisions. The pursuit of trying to look trendy and classy is a major drive that talks about making very rash and unnecessary decisions, this unhealthy mind set is what makes a lot of young people look really wealthy on social media but are very poor financially.

Luxurious and extremely expensive vehicles: In order to appear really rich to the world, people damn the financial consequences and they go out of their way to purchase luxurious cars even when they still live in a rented apartment.

Bragging about finance: Wealthy people do not talk about their financial possession except they are in a business deal but for people who are not financial capable, they take every little opportunity to boost about either the finance they do not have and those that they have.

Shiny, extremely large but cheap items: Poor people really think they need to show off how rich they are by buying extravagantly large chains, I really do not know how to describe this but if you see some people who are trying to look rich, then you will understand what I am talking about properly.

Renting items just to impress the opposite sex: In the country where I come from, this is a very common attitude for young men who are trying to show off their wealth to young girls just to get laid with them.

Looking for someone to buy an expensive item for you: It is very funny but real that so many young people cannot afford a particular luxurious item but they wait for someone to buy it for them, there is really no sense in carrying an overly expensive bag or putting on a highly paid wrist watch that you cannot afford to purchase by yourself or the money in your account does not amount to.

Gaining credibility from a one-time association: I had to borrow this phrase from a t.v show, once some people are opportune to meet a celebrity, they make so much noise about it that it is imagined that they are relatives to the celebrity when in the real sense they just meet once.

Looking for brand over quality: For poor people, once something is common and appears luxurious, then it is what they want to go for almost immediately while rich people simply look for a high quality product to meet their taste.

Disclaimer: This is not a post to discredit anyone but to make people understand more reasons why it is important to live within the means of what we are able to comfortably afford.

Interesting and true at the same time. Everyone wants to look rich and so put unnecessary pressure on themselves. Thanks for sharing
