Devotional: Chase your dream relentlessly | 40% of this post goes to @HeartChurch ❤ ❤
We all like to dream and we want to dream big about what we most want to be in life.
One day I dreamed of being an educator and since then, I began my dream of teaching children in my community and teaching them the subject that I love the most, which is mathematics.
I remember that I was only a young man studying Basic and Diversified Education. Primary school children always came to my house for me to clarify certain doubts regarding a subject related to mathematics. The truth is that I became close friends with the parents of those children. Honestly, I really liked teaching the children and young people of my community.
My dream grew, however financial limitations arose and it seemed that my dream was collapsing. My father, who was the one who supported me and sustained the home, became ill with cirrhosis of the liver, which limited him to continue working.
Everything seemed like I had to abandon my studies and leave behind my dream of being an educator. The economic situation got so bad that I had to go to work and try to study at the same time. It was not easy at all, however, I managed to get a job that allowed me in part to continue my university career and with struggles and tests, I managed to reach the end of the degree and obtain my university degree in Mathematics Education.
Dreaming big my goal allowed me to achieve success over all obstacles that arose.
Whenever I remember my dream, I am inspired by the story of Joseph the son of Jacob, who dreamed big of being a ruling man with great authority over peoples. Joseph's dream, although it was something great and majestic, was also full of obstacles and many barriers that tried to prevent José from succeeding in what he had dreamed of being in his life.
Joseph's obstacles were strong and painful, so much so that his own blood brothers made his life miserable. They threw him into a waterless cistern, then sold him as a slave to Egypt, and if that wasn't enough, the wife of Joseph's master accused him of sexual abuse, which led him to jail.
All these obstacles could have depressed Joseph and made him give up his dream, however, God's hand was with Joseph to help him and place him in the place where Joseph had dreamed (Governor).
José pursued his dream and was not intimidated by the obstacles along the way. José fought for what he wanted to be in life and God helped him obtain the crown of his dream.
Joseph's suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials. 38 Then Pharaoh asked his officials, "Will we find someone like this man, so clearly filled with the spirit of God?" 39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has revealed the meaning of dreams to you, it is obvious that there is no one more wise and intelligent than you. 40 You will be in charge of my palace, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a higher rank than yours. Genesis 41: 39-40 New Living Translation (NLT)
In the way that Joseph pursued his dream and became governor of Egypt, so you too, dear reader, if you don't give up on your dream, you can become as important a man of God as Joseph was.
Don't stop dreaming big about what your heart tells you you can become in life. Enjoy the success of dreaming your dream big.
