God lifts up the poor and needy. Psalm 113
God's everlasting arms are always outstretched to provide help to the poor and needy. God is worthy of all praise, for his name is salvation for those who seek and trust in him. God does not take refuge in His status as great King to turn His eyes away from the poor, but His status as King of all the earth enables Him to humble Himself to extend His mighty arms to the lowly who cry out to Him day and night. Perpetual praise be to God. Psalm 113 provides us with an important message in which it calls for God to be praised because He lifts up the poor in the midst of all their needs.
Praise, you servants of the LORD,
Praise the name of the LORD.
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD.
From this time forth and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the going down of the sun,
let the name of the LORD be praised.
4 The LORD is exalted above all nations,
His glory is above the heavens.
5 Who is like the LORD our God?
Who sits on high,
6 Who humbles himself to look
In heaven and on earth?
7 He lifts up the poor from the dust
And lifts up the needy from the dunghill,
8 To make them sit with princes,
With the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren to dwell in the family,
Who rejoices to be the mother of children.
Alleluia. Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960).

The Lord exhorts all his servants to praise his holy name. The name of God is a name above every name, its holiness endures forever and ever. On the heavenly throne, the seraphim and cherubim continually worship the name of God, saying: Holy, holy, holy, is God Almighty, the whole earth is full of his glory.
How beautiful it is to know that the heavenly beings continually praise the name of God. In the same way, Psalm 113 invites us to say:
Praise, you servants of the LORD,
Praise the name of the LORD.
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD.
From this time forth and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to the going down of the sun,
let the name of the LORD be praised. Psalm 113: 1-3

The greatness of God surpasses all understanding. God is exalted above all the peoples of the earth, and his glory covers the heavens. The Lord dwells on high, and from there he humbles himself to look down upon men on earth. God does not look upon his exalted condition of holiness, but has mercy on sinful men, so much is his love, for them, that God humbled himself by taking the condition of man to die in the place of men and provide the help of salvation to deliver them from all sin. In due time, God sent his son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for all mankind. God lifts up the poor and needy. The Lord stretches out his glorious arms for all in need. God always humbles himself from the heavens to succor man on earth. The psalmist wrote:
The Lord is exalted above all nations,
His glory is above the heavens.
5 Who is like the LORD our God?
Who sits on high,
6 Who humbles himself to look
In heaven and on earth? Psalm 113: 4-6

How wonderful are these words written by the author of Psalm 113, when he said:
He lifts up the poor from the dust,
and lifts up the needy from the dunghill,
8 To make them sit down with princes,
With the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren to dwell in the family,
Who rejoices to be the mother of children.
Alleluia. Psalm 113: 7-8
God looks upon and succors the poor, regardless of their condition, but God's love is like a "life preserver" on the high seas. In the midst of your troubles or needs, you can openly count on God's favor and he will lift you up from the most miserable place where you have fallen. God is not spiteful, but completely loving. This reminds me of Hannah, the mother of Samuel, who was in a very pitiful condition among the women of the people of Israel, because she was a barren woman who could not bear children. Barrenness was a condition of repudiation and mockery among the people of Israel, Hannah turned to God and the Lord from heaven looked upon her condition of need and the Lord extended his everlasting arms of love and delivered her from her condition of barrenness and allowed her to have a son, whom she named Samuel and dedicated her whole life to the Lord.
God is loving and raises the poor and needy from the dust.

Praising God for his prowess and greatness allows us to value and appreciate the favor he has shown to all who call upon his name. God is love and will always be willing to help those in need. Jeremiah said, "Call to me and I will answer you."
