Church of Las Lajas, Nariño - Magical Places of Colombia 1.
All the countries of the world are full of places with so much charm and beauty that they can be classified as magical, places that I dream of traveling with. One of the Magical Places of Colombia that I would like to visit someday is:
THE CHURCH OF LAS LAJAS
The Sanctuary of Las Lajas, as it is also known, is a Catholic church located in the municipality of Ipiales, Department of Nariño, near the southern border of Colombia with neighboring Ecuador.
It owes its name to Our Lady of Las Lajas, who according to the story, her image appeared to a girl of the region in 1754 on a slab stone on one of the walls of the Guáitara river canyon.

The Church of Las Lajas was built 100 meters above the Guáitara river canyon between 1916 and 1946, with a striking neo-Gothic style.

It was declared the most beautiful church in the world by the English newspaper "The Telegraph" in 2015 and one of the seven wonders of Colombia in a survey carried out by the newspaper El Tiempo in 2007.
